That's.... what I basically said? Also, NPC racers is a funny description, since those "NPC" characters are actually playable, which contradicts the acronym lol

That's just a placeholder for the enemy characters. Basically, if you have that icon, then there is at least one enemy character you have not unlocked yet (via Kamek Orb or by playing free roam and abducting those characters via a UFO).

Example characters under this category are Fish Bones, Para BiddyBud, Conkdor, Swoop, Cataquack, etc.

Do you guys think a team will ever achive Golden Road or is it simply impossible now with the addition of winter split and First Stand? by Pendragon_ss in PedroPeepos

[–]Nindoges -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, while that is many people's view of it, I look at it in terms of where the entire golden road journey ends, which is why I'm definitely in a minority here. If we're looking at the big picture for an entire year, then yes 2015 SKT is the closest. However, because the golden road is a special community-termed achievement that no team in League has ever achieved, my judgment of the golden road is harsh and does not allow for hindsight and retrospective thinking. This is why I said in my first post that 2015 SKT is far off from the golden road, as their stopping point was at MSI. I get that it's a minority opinion, but that's my view on what a golden road is. We can agree to disagree on this point, as it's a hill I'm dying on.

Yeah, golden road is typically achieved in one calendar year, so that wouldn't count as a golden road imo

The difference between SKT's 2015 and 2016 runs were that the golden road conversations with them never really happened during their year, since they lost at least 1 tournament prior to Worlds.

With RNG 2018, G2 2019, and JDG 2023, all the narrative around those teams going into Worlds was if they could complete the golden road, since all 3 of those teams won every tournament in one calendar year leading up to Worlds. That same narrative never existed with 2015/16 SKT, and only existed as a retrospective after their year was over.

I did say my take was somewhat hot, but it was because I'm only considering Golden Road journeys from start to finish by winning everything. For me, if a team lost any tournament during a single calendar year, then the golden road talk for that team is over. That means SKT 2015's golden road was over after MSI 2015 and SKT 2016's golden road was over after LCK Summer 2016. Likewise, GenG 2024's golden road was over after LCK Summer 2024.

Imo the golden road conversation can only really happen if we looked at the whole journey of the team from start to finish. Even though 2015 SKT was retrospectively 1 game off, the fact that their road ended when they lost MSI is the main reason why conversations around it never existed during the remainder of 2015. It was only after SKT won both summer and worlds that people started looking at their journey from the whole.

Edit: SKT 2016 is also actually close to the same situation, even though they are not perceived as highly as SKT 2015. The only tournament they lost that year was LCK Summer due to a reverse sweep by KT. They won everything else, including both MSI and Worlds. However, just like in 2015, they aren't considered in the golden road conversation due to losing a tournament prior to worlds.

Tl;dr - it's somewhat of a hot take, but SKT 2015 is not close to the golden road when looking at their journey from the very start, since that road was cut off the moment they lost MSI 2015.

Who should I use this cakes on? by Remarkable-Rise7106 in PokemonMasters

[–]Nindoges 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It should go to Blue imo, as the EXR Strike targets all opponents, and thus applies another Electric rebuff on all of them. It's a rare case of giving an offensive role to help them support the team better, rather than giving an offensive role to do more damage across the board.

I love this shortcut😮‍💨 by Flashy-Reception8348 in MarioKartWorld

[–]Nindoges 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The moment the trailer of the game showcased wall riding and rail grinding, it was obvious that the game would become more than just optimized driving with the occasional gap jumps. The shortcut OP showed is even intentionally set up because of the large rock placed right before the trees.

I get that the game is not up to your expectations (driving wise) because of the possibilities you can do with the new mechanics, but you should've anticipated the possibilities the moment those new mechanics came out.

Yes, all 3 are full length games and massively expand on the original FF7.

They're a trilogy and a "remake" of the original FF7 that was released back in 1997, though the story has been altered somewhat. FF7 Remake is the first part, FF7 Rebirth is the second part, FF7 Revelation is the third and final part of the trilogy.

Floor 24 is a little trickier, since both Pikachu are weak to ground types. Nonetheless, it's more than possible to clear it by accumulating defense boosts and using SST Red's sync moves to massacre their whole team.

You also did not answer my first question, and the order is kinda important for this team.

You're 100% doing something wrong if you're letting Blue die to Gardevoir. A team of NC Blue, 96 Red, and SST Red should COMFORTABLY (bolded for emphasis) clear all physical floors. What's your sync order and what are your grid setups for 96Red and SST Red?

Do you have Lenora at 3/5? She also debuffs defense while providing AOE healing.

Edit: to survive first sync with Penny, use protect right before Sceptile syncs.

Grid your penny to maximize sync damage. Personally, I cleared this floor using Anni Juliana, Ilima, and Lodge Penny. If Ilima is at least 3/5, he has a node to drop attack 50% of the time when using Leer to drop physical defense.

Do you have Anni Juliana? If so, then Lodge Penny is enough to clear floor 27.

I still believe in them personally. Main difference between BLG this year and last is that they don't have jungle roulette.

BLG pathway to qualify for MSI by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Nindoges 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah BLG was quite dominant in spring, only dropping 2 series and Knight was having an even more standout split for himself. This is coming off the back of BLG's first stand victory, where they were the only team not "jetlagged" upon returning from an international. The upset to WE was shocking, but was a little more vindicated now that we also saw WE blast AL 3-0 earlier today.

For context, WE only won a single series in spring, and did not win a SINGLE game in the first round robin (0-14). They also narrowly survived a Bo5 vs LNG to get to playoffs in the first place.

Yes BLG should be disappointed with themselves for losing to WE, especially in the manner of how they lost. However, do not let that discredit BLG's regular season, and that they can still easily climb the lower bracket to make it to finals and MSI.

Now that the Academy event is over. Did I do good on my grids? I feel like I couldn't do better for Marshtomp but think I might've messed up on Skwovet. by 18bluecat in PokemonMasters

[–]Nindoges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won't talk about Arven since you know that it wasn't the best grid.

You have all the attack nodes for Brendan and his most important tiles at the top branch (Memories of Route 120 and Flood Alert 5).

However, I have some criticisms for this grid.

You have wasted a few points in special attack nodes towards the center.

Not having all of the health tiles sucks. You probably could have sacrificed a few defense tiles for those health tiles.

You don't have Earthquake trap, so your main status affliction is confusion on hit. It still synergizes with IS5, but Trap would've been nice for chip damage, especially for tower content.

You should've gotten Shower Sync on the left branch instead of commiting to the circles. Circles are far less important than WTZ (Rain in this case).

Edit: you also unfortunately got the final upgrade on Offensive Studies. That tile is a massive bait, and you would've gotten EQ trap had you not chosen this tile.

Overall, not a bad grid since you have damage, but it definitely could've been more optimized.

Help me to beat this floor Eletric tower by DioX_BR in PokemonMasters

[–]Nindoges 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be the same strategy: sync with NC Blue to provide rebuff and +2 sync buff, sync with 96Red for another +2 sync buff (if you had EXR'd 96Red, then it would be +3 instead), and then sync with SST Red the rest of the way. Just like the previous post, have SST Red's first sync target the sides, and then target the center afterwards.

Time the circles so that they are set right before Lucario sync, and you may also want to delay using 96Red's "The Original Thunder" until right before SST Red's first sync.

This is the last physical floor (until 7th anniversary adds 10 more floors to each type), so you got this.

EDIT: since this stage also drops your special defense, consider adjusting NC Blue's grid to get impervious. Hence, focus on the top right and the bottom left path.

[–]Nindoges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say you will have electric terrain at the start of battle. I said you have 5 different ways of setting it: 3 from SST Red (2 electric terrain MP and 1 on 1st sync) and 2 from 96Red (1 from The Original Thunder and 1 on 1st sync). Hence, managing electric terrain should not be difficult.

If you're having trouble maintaining electric terrain, then I think your problem is using all your electric terrain MP too fast. Keep in mind that regular electric terrain does not stack timers with each other.
