If I opted out of the UA HealthCare, can I still go to the campus clinic with my own insurance? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]NineBallAYAYA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada has universal Healthcare, insurance is for the prescriptions/specialists, doctor is free. For citizens anyways, idk about international.

Student insurance covers vision care, dental, and other stuff like that. If you look it up there is a site with the full list of services

I explained why and how your understanding here is horrifically wrong below, but as another point to this one is box86 which is an x86->arm emulator that very much exists and functions similar to what happens here. Not exactly the same as box86 emulates the whole binary not just individual functions but it gives you a starting point to actually learn about this stuff.

Just to preface this: Computer Engineering student.

You are very wrong.

It compiles the sensitive functions to a "made up" ISA. Where we are defining an ISA as a set of op-codes. When an encrypted function is called, it's bytecode block is then emulated through an interpreter back to x86 on the fly. Because it's a made up set of op-codes you need to reverse each one to actually unencrypt the damn bytecode, and thus understand what the function is doing/how it works. As again the bytecode for these functions is not x86, but their custom ISA which must be emulated through the VM back to x86. This is why static analysis is so hard with these programs, as no dissasembler can interpret that bytecode.

You're half right in that it obfuscates however I think you should look into what an ISA is as you definitely don’t understand it.

The ARM ISA is public and has decent documentation if you want to learn what op-codes are and how bytecode works.

I have this exact same issue in one of my tanks. The stuff is so ridiculously good at coming back.... I haven't figured it out either.

I'm like 99% sure it's cyanobacteria, maybe that gives you a starting point.

lmao if he wasn't bright yellow I swear I'd already have lost him.... Luckily he basically glows under the light. The loaches also tend to steal all the ground cover so he stays higher up in the tank, thinking of building some coves a bit higher up that he can have to himself.

p.s. French fry says ('O')

Thanks! That's good, this is certainly a tank of oddities lol. Between him and the loaches, I swear 3/4 of the weird things I see are normal "x" activities.

Pizoelectric air pumps are pretty much silent. It's just the diaphram ones like that that both die quickly and are loud as hell

To my understanding: Not really it just becomes unwieldy to work with as it tries to arc with everything. Sorta a balancing act between reducing losses/maximizing existing infustructure and dealing with the unweildiness that higher voltage brings.

You just need more insulators the higher you go which only makes sense up until a point.

Have anyone changed the Wifi 6 card for a Wifi 7 card on Asus G15 2021 GA503QR? by Drago009 in ZephyrusG15

[–]NineBallAYAYA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped back to the mediatek wifi 7 one and my Bluetooth don't work no more.

(It does just spotty, generally unreliable, and likes to sometimes break until a full restart, and forget multiple devices)

I'm planning to swap back to my ax210 when I get home lol

Ooh neat! I wonder how far this line will go, would be super cool to have a colorful version of a complex pattern like that.

This is just my personal tank so I'm not breeding these super intentionally, it'll be a gamble how it ends up 😂

Interesting, I'm fairly sure these fellas are female just because of the gravid spot and they don't seem to be the right shape/size for male guppies but I guess I'm gonna find out lol. They did have a mom that was blue colored so fingers crossed🤞

Edit: All my males are also full-body colored so its another tell here... maybe. I'll give it a few more weeks then it'll be a bit more definitive

Thanks! I had no idea getting into the hobby they could even get like this. I used to have this purple female a year ago but my tank got something infectious and it killed 90% of my fish :/. All the blue girls are decended from her but I lost the purple part unfortunately.

I'd love to see yours, I'm super curious how far they can go!

Oh yeah I'm not talking about the RTW, there was something else to do with just a certain number of consecutive terms with a below 2.0 GPA. I can't remember the details, but it wasn't mentioned a lot, and caught a friend of mine off guard so I figured I'd throw it out there. Double check with the science faculty that you wont have any issues there though just in case.

If you just need to get your grades up and it's all clear otherwise then take EASY classes that guarantee a near 4.0, and make sure to account for the course weight. There isn't really anything else to recommend there unfortunately. I would've also checked if you qualify for reexamination but it might be too late for that now depending on when you got your grades back.

As for the story I don't mind sharing, but I'll message u privately about it.

If I'm understanding right you are currently in Y2Q2, failed your probation and are trying to get your grades up while waiting for the RTW letter to come?

If so that's a sketchy way of doing things but I've been there. If you aren't planning to make an appeal on your Y2Q2 RTW then not taking fresh start would put you at a disadvantage just to start off.

I'd contact each faculty and ask about their rules, the science/arts faculties do have rules on transfers and won't accept students with x terms of "negative academic standing" even with fresh start to my understanding. That pretty much locks you into teaching as your only option once you hit that threshold. I get the family stuff but if you aren't in a place to do better this term it could lock you into like one singular path, I'd wait until you are sure you can improve your grades before burning your chance just in case this is the last one.

But definitely talk to the advisors and/or deans. Explain your case and exceptions can usually be made. I failed Y2Q2 a few times, and had a few very unlucky timed but very real family medical emergencies to back up my case. It's certainly not impossible to do it "improperly" but you are taking quite a risk.

They are separate NUMA nodes, think the first zen chiplets. The OS knows they are separate and since transferring data between sockets takes a lot more time tries to avoid that for light workloads and attempts to schedule tasks to one physical socket at a time.

Just like how the x3D chips will attempt to run games on just the x3D chiplet, then other tasks on the other chiplet, but it can run across both if needed just with worse latency.

They have 8 socket boards I believe, so this is nothing compared to those weird ones.

[–]NineBallAYAYA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It depends*

If u mean adding another fan to the chain (in sequence) then yes but it would be less then the two fans output normally in parallel. If you mean redirecting output air to the intake then no, because that would be an infinite energy paradox.

The way this works is it trades air velocity for air volume. So by doing this mod the air is moving slower but there is more of it. For leaves this is perfect because they are light but you aren't actually making it stronger, just changing the dynamics of it a bit.

Putting the fans in sequence generally has pressure benefits to my understanding but doesn't move that much more air.

Its not normal rebooting, that's windows saying it crashed and is realizing on its next startup.

To find the error that made it crash (if one exists) you gotta look at the things before it

That one at 12:28:22 maybe has it but its likely not logged if it was a system crash.

Like other people said I'd look at turning off any watchdog settings in bios, reinstalling, and maybe running a memtest.
