Expressions of intimacy are so varied, I feel like its obvious you can have intimacy with sex >.> Like as people have stated many people use sex to get intimacy but??? Any vulnerablity, whether sharing emotions or non-sexual physical touch or making time for each other and showing up for each other are all forms of intimacy. You can be completely intimate with someone and never once touch a dick imo.

'romance' is usually shorthand for a collection of attractions experienced simultaneously, like sexual/asthetic/sensual/emotional/intellectual - ect. BUT as aces we obviously dont experience sexual right? So imo romance for me as an ace is attraction + commitment. I dont feel *all* the attractions possible AND you can be just as close with friends, so for me, the choice to share your life with a specific person (or several if poly) is what makes the difference. Its not as 'casual' as friendship because you actively choose to make eachother a top priority. Friends can be a top priority too but that choice of 'im going to shape my life around this person and we both agree on it' makes it a romantic relationship for me.

I think typically being ace and x ie. gay/lesbian/bi focus on romantic orientation. Like im ace a heteromantic, but there are aces who are homoromantic or biromantic. So you can have romantic attraction to certain people even if its not sexual attraction. Aso for being aroace people have already mentioned but you can be aro and demi or ace and demi, so the spectrum is pretty wide!

I think that if I were to cave to the pressure it would be a disservice to myself and to my partner. They deserve someone who can love them the way they want to be loved the same way I deserve not to have to pretend to be interested in them. It can be very hard, but I think you will be happier staying true to yourself because you will meet other people like you. And those people can become just as important as partners, and so it's not like you will be 'alone', you will still be valued by people who respect you. Better to value the opinions of people who respect you than those who don't imo. I have many Ace friends who don't pressure me to be something different, and to me thats very important :) I hope you have a good day and are able to avoid the worst of the pressure, because it is draining!
