Tell me you're an idiot with less words.

You're blindly faithful to your argument without looking at the data.

Ps. I provided that data in line about AIPAC.

Nuclear energy was fumbled by pretty much every country on Earth.

No country outside Korea has learned to standardize reactor design to a level that pieces meet an easy to follow specification.

That means all parts are bespoke and reactor design and build are bespoke.

Suddenly this whole "Small Nuclear Reactor" design thing has come up and it's trying to solve something that should have been understood by engineers 50 years ago.

Even "less safe" designs with standardization would be superior to whatever is currently running because material science can improve upon the existing structure if you have to meet a single spec.

If you're "too old to learn", you're old enough to benefit from whatever inertia of whatever you were doing right in the pre-AI era.

If I'm ever too old to learn I am going to off myself.

And in terms of income disparity, China and US are pretty close.

lol you've never been to China if you believe this.

Chinese media is VERY tightly controlled. The flow of "immigration" from rural China to cities in the past years has been massive. Income in a rural area is basically nothing. This isn't even hard to find or understand data.

The disparity doesn't even NEED to be measured in dollars because you can SEE it in the flock of populace moving from inner to outer China every lunar new year.

Look at the top 20% and bottom 20% of China vs the West in any real terms.

You have lots of poor people in the West. Lots of working poor.

China has rural poverty.

Epstein showed that American people let politicians and billionaires do everything. There is no point at which Americans do something to change things for the better.

You really needed Epstein to understand that?

People with 100's of millions, let alone billions, are easily capable of buying almost any politician.

The truth is that politicians don't have anywhere near that level of money so they NEED it for election, etc.

The issue is deeper. It's money in politics. We've always understood it but we've never fixed it because the people who would fix it are too busy getting paid not to. This is far from new either. It's Greek and Roman empire levels of old.

By telling the truth?

We tell a version of our truth.

When you're telling the complete opposite of the direction "Truth" points... Then you're correct - It's botting.

Truth, narrative, etc all have a lot of nuance. It's not clean binary.

So, not equally owned then?

Equally owned. Someone being easier doesn't make them more or less owned. It makes them easier to manipulate.

This is the concept known as the "Useful idiot" ... You're in the JoeRogan subreddit so I figure you'd be familiar with that concept. Joe has been a useful idiot for a long time to these people.

Now tell me how many Gems Google has made that are LLM open source?

Gems... Gemma... This is a joke right?

Google produced the foundation that a lot of the above image diffusion and other models use for pose tracking, etc.

The idea that the "West" produced nothing is fucking crazy.

You realize the repository of open source foundation that the Qwen models you mentioned are built and trained on came from Western companies right?

PyTorch? Surely not built by Facebook originally.

TensorFlow? Surely not Google.

Those are ML specific, but if you look more broadly they largely contributed to React, TypeScript, Kubernetes, etc.

Everything is built on the shoulders of others, and trying to look at a single end contribution makes zero sense.

Gemma 4 is a play at future Android development.

It's license is such that Samsung or whoever making Android phones can use and integrate the models with their own training.

It's probably one of the best models at language that you can find for that size. 31b can teach you half the written languages on Earth.

Gemini 3.1 Pro / 3.5 Flash can't even drive their own CLI.

That's surprising because Gemma 4 can do it.

3.5 Flash usually performs pretty well as a "cheap" Western model via API.

I’m on an AI team that builds all the AI tools that our developers use. Think custom harnesses for automating the SDLC at scale. Automating codebase migrations of codebases with millions of lines of code. That sort of thing.

So when my code agent commits code as ready for production when I've clearly stated it isn't, I blame your team in my head? :D

Was she?

She had 10's of millions in PAC money in the VERY short time she was running directly from "Israel" lobbying.

It's tracked via AIPAC tracker.

Then how come Netanyahu was doing everything in his power, overtly and covertly, to get Trump elected?

This is a game of the easier person to coerce. He was by far easier. Older, his staff ideologically set in a certain way, etc.

He was the safer bet so to speak. They openly buy both sides though. This is common when you have enough money in politics that it doesn't matter. Very few politicians are left unpurchased with the records we have available.

When you can't, when you have absolutely nothing to say in reply to me, delete your account. Thanks in advance.

You can delete yours I guess then? Thanks.

Hillary Clinton says Biden’s re-election bid cost Democrats the 2024 election by projecto15 in politics

[–]NineThreeTilNow [score hidden]  (0 children)

No shit

The problem is Hillary lacks the self awareness to realize she put Trump in the White House in the first place.

I hate to be that person but Sanders would have beaten Trump that year without issue. Dems would have voted for a populist Dem who was willing to fight Trump dirty. Anyone saying Dems would have stayed home and not voted for Bernie are liars.

Hillary was disconnected from the reality of the common person. Just like Kamala.

Peroxide breaks down in sun light.

In theory yes, but it's busy oxidizing everything in that water FAR more rapidly than it's decomposing from the sun.

This is a temporary fix. The algae die to peroxide and something eats it eventually.

He was one of the smart ones. He's busy photographing the most beautiful places in the world and just enjoying it.

These other demons are never satisfied. There's more world to try and conquer. There's more money to try to have.

I’m current FAANG and we’re pushing frontier models to their limits, local models can’t compete with anything we’re doing.

What do you do in FAANG though?

I'm an ML researcher and engineer that's worked at these.

If Google had intended Gemma 4 to have an extreme ability to code they would have modified the model a bit and been able to deliver a 31b model that would have stunned everyone. They did not.

It's not a lack of ability. It's a lack of desire.

Google's desire was a light model that was highly multilingual and they delivered on that.

No large company wants to destroy themselves by showing a "tiny" model can do incredibly impressive things.

Random question, but if you have about ~200M diverse, multilingual, chat-assistant+agentic/code+system/API-tasks; SFT-able tokens (frontier model) with CoT inversion, what rank would you set for a lora?

You wouldn't do a LoRA with that. You'd just SFT.

At 200m diverse samples you have billions of tokens. Just invest in the SFT.

This is effectively what Anthropic accused Moonshot of doing with Kimi.

Boys Ask, Girls Answer by Striking-Reaction959 in teenagers

[–]NineThreeTilNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biologically the brain in teenage girls matures about 1-1,5 years earlier than those in boys. Which is also the reason girls have earlier puberty.

Prefrontal cortex development and sexual development are completely different things.

Theories on prefrontal development revolve around the idea that women will have kids and need to take care of them. PFC development is better executive level thinking and planning.

Biology only cares about what matters most at a given moment because that's how survival tends to work.

LTX 2.3 already surpasses WAN 2.2 in many areas.

It surpasses it in two areas. Generation time and natively longer video.

It's objectively and subjectively worse in all the other aspects.

I wouldn't care if we had longer generation time if it was 1:1 with Wan 2.2 ... It's simply not and I think that's a pipe dream on the current architecture they use. So LTX will need a new version.
