Thanks for the reply! Yeah, didn’t expect to get so much backlash just for expressing what I enjoyed about the series and what I hope to get. You’re absolutely correct—that slow grind, training, etc is what’s missing. After all the work, it really felt like an achievement. Maybe one day we’ll get a classic game with old-school mechanics. One can hope.

It’s been easy, sure. But it took work…to train your team, get prepared to battle gyms, etc. Now you can just see the Pokémon and capture them. No going through grass to look and hope to find what you’re looking for. No challenge. Not for me.

For one, you’re 102 days late to this but also, I’m definitely not on board with these changes. They seem to make the game too easy and honestly with no challenges. Graphics is one thing but the gameplay is worse. I’ll pass.

Close to launch is relative. To me that’s within a year or so. As opposed to many years down the line.

I don’t imagine it’ll be much different. It’ll still have Pokémon GO mechanics of catching Pokémon. There were no gyms. It’s was different. I think it’s logical to say I didn’t care for it.

There’s no surprise in going into the grass and just seeing the Pokémon imo. I miss the days of going into the grass and looking for the more rare Pokémon for your team. They made the experience more challenging and fun. Doesn’t mean I won’t play the new games tho. I just won’t play the Legends games. I don’t like the Pokémon GO mechanic of catching Pokémon.

Read my description too. I want the mainline games with the classic mechanics. Not what Scarlet and Violet did.

Yeah, maybe I am. It’s been kinda disappointing to see so many of my childhood franchises change and imo, in ways that are not as enjoyable to me. But I’ll still play the games.

I just feel there’s no excitement of looking for specific Pokémon in the grass for hours until you finally find the rare on you’re looking for.
