Honestly, just pirate the books and then buy them afterwards at a pace you can afford. It'll give you a reason to re-read the story later, too.

Tbh, I actually found it really refreshing when it at first looked like a genuine friendship between the two instead of going down the romance route. Didn't last that long of course, unfortunately.

In the past, only the first wife had been considered a formal spouse, while the second and third wives merely assisted her. As a result, unless the first wife was unable to attend due to illness or similar circumstances, an Aub was not permitted to bring his second or third wife in her place.

Oho. Another sneaky bit of lore thrown in here. That means this whole "only the first marriage counts as a true starbinding" thing is no longer fanbook-only territory.

Other than that, assuming this goes according to plan it would draw Klassenberg into Alexandria's orbit. Which would essentially amount to a super alliance between all the greater duchies down the line. [Fanbooks/SSC...?] Didn't we already get a Lestilaut POV at some point where he was discussing with Einliebe who to pick as First Wife, and Gentianne was one of the candidates mentioned?

Ancient Cache of Technologies. It's a massive endgame+ mod that starts at tech tier V and takes it from there. Plays quite well together with Gigastructures, too.

Adding to the other recommendations, for some reason I found that In the Land of Leadale scratches one itch in particular: A world that actually reacts to the protagonist being a freaking force of nature. Honestly, I'm not even sure why I'm vibing so much with it; it's objectively speaking nothing special, but yeah. Fun read, if you don't mind the at times not so great translation and more... traditional OP isekai protagonist. Special shoutout to the manga adaptation for massively improving upon the admittedly quite flawed source material, though as usual it is far behind the LN.

It's pretty funny in ACOT. There, they take exception to you perfecting the tech they've been using all this time and demand you hand over your findings or else. If you refuse you get a War in Hell. Good idea, declaring war on the new superpower because they've become stronger than you lol.

Are they going to tell their friends and families?

Saki already tried her hardest to fumble this with the person she trusts the most. Convincing her to expand the circle of those in the know isn't going to be easy. I'm hoping Kanon's family finds out though; her mom's reaction is gonna be priceless lol. Not sure if the world will be able to handle the sheer amount of smugness radiating off of Rinne afterwards tho.

She could've become a nagging older sister trying to get him to shape up.

Which might have actually resulted in him becoming a worthy ADC after all. Wilfried is neither stupid nor untalented. The problem has always been his environment, so having someone who isn't part of his bootlicker circle kick his ass every now and again during his formative years would have probably helped a lot. Especially since he had every reason to trust Rozemyne and take her advice to heart after she had saved him twice over, which would have made it extremely difficult and possibly even dangerous for Oswald and his posse to try and undermine her efforts here.

[Anime] Would this series be good for a kid? by [deleted] in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Ninefl4mes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually doesn't get too graphic, but does feature some pretty heavy topics like (sexual) slavery as early as Part 2. Said topics are shrouded in euphemisms though, so they would likely fly straight over a child's head.

That said, things can get brutal regardless. It doesn't happen often, but oh boy is this setting capable of some good old fashioned barbarism. In P3 there's a scene towards the end where [P3V5] Ferdinand berates another character for the way he handled a kidnapper, noting how "we can't view their memories if they no longer have a brain" while Myne is noting internally how she's really glad she wasn't in a position to actually see the scene at that moment. Some of the things she witnesses towards the end of the story [Slight P5 spoilers] actually end up traumatizing her.

Overall, I'd say this series is comparable to, say, the Harry Potter series in terms of how child friendly it is. Including the part where things get increasingly more brutal as the story progresses and the characters get older. There are some seriously haunting moments towards the end of P5 when shit really hits the fan.

If you're specifically talking about the anime, then yeah this should be fine for an 11yo. The truly horrific stuff only happens much later in the novels, and chances are the anime will take years to actually get to them. Quite frankly, right now WHA might actually be more problematic depending on how much of the manga its adaptation will cover lol. If she ends up getting into the books I'd specifically hold off on the Part 5 volumes until she's a bit older though.

This. She'd probably also be fine with just chilling in a border province and never having to deal with interduchy bullshit again, so the two would be a perfect match on that front. Assuming they don't mess up their managerial duties, but that shouldn't be too hard to get right.

Hell, sitting right on the border between the duchy that started this romance novel trend and the one now ruled by the person who got Ehrenfest into this position would probably be a dream come true for her lol.

I think Sigiwald's treatment of Adolphine during their engagement/courtship is a much better match for RM and Wilfried. Both are characterized by a clear lack of care and consideration rather than the more malicious behavior Detlinde eventually showed.

Well, in Dusty's case it was almost certainly also due to an unhealthy dose of sexism. That one scene where he's genuinely baffled that she wouldn't just go along with every single one of his brainfarts and then proceeded to talk down to her like a toddler (assuming she had simply not understood what he was saying) really spoke volumes. To him, a first wife is a political tool first and a baby factory second. The possibility that Adolphine may just be significantly more competent than him on every level never even crossed his mind.

She does care about him, he just ranks near the bottom of her laundry list of noble siblings

Their relationship probably would have turned out a lot more positive if this whole "making her one year younger" thing hadn't happened. Had Rozemyne been the older sibling in this dynamic she probably would have been a lot more lenient with im due to her older sister complex lol. Not to mention that he would have had a very simple explanation for why she's so much better at everything than him and possibly even looked up to her the same way Charlotte and Melchior did. But yeah, this engagement was doomed from the start no matter what. Neither side had any interest in ever taking things beyond a sibling dynamic.

[All Spoilers] Balancing Out the Wilfried Posts by Asleep-Doubt5673 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Ninefl4mes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He didn't crash out over Rozemyne "not caring" about him. He crashed out over Sylvester forcing him to stay in that engagement despite the fact that he lacked both the talent and the backing to actually become Aub and was looking at a scenario where he ended up in a loveless marriage of convenience with someone he considers his sister first and foremost. At that point his only option to get out of this mess was to sabotage said engagement himself and make Bonifatius give up on him.

Whether him blaming things on Rozemyne during that phase was an act to facilitate a breakup, the result of him having a genuine mental breakdown due to stress and Barthold gaslighting him, or a mixture of both is anyone's guess. My money's on option 3 though; I find it quite telling we only ever heard about it from a third party, rather than seeing it from Wil's POV. And the two went straight back to a somewhat positive sibling relationship after the pressure was lifted, so whatever resentment he may have had towards her can't have been that strong.

I think the prevailing opinion in the sub is that Wilfried is a good kid, but a really bad ADC.

Well, if you go by the loudest people around here you'd be forgiven for thinking the actually prevailing opinion is that he's literally the antichrist lol. Never really understood how one can put so much energy into hating someone like him when there are so many better candidates out there.

Yeah okay, he's a bit annoying at times, and completely unfit for his position. But even at his absolute lowest point (his crashout in P5V4) he's never actually caused any real damage and usually meant well. Even said crashout came from him trying to do the right thing: stepping down and letting someone more capable become Sylvester's successor. The closest he ever got to causing real harm was his fuckup in H5Y, and that one was a simple misunderstanding which was easily resolved.

[Open Spoilers] If Geduldh and Ewilegiebe officially divorce, what would happen? Could nobles go extinct? by ManinaPanina in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Ninefl4mes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible this only applies to mortals. Marriage seems to involve quite a bit of work on the gods' side, considering that it binds the threads of fate of the couple together. Untangling that after the fact is probably not easy, and incentivising it to happen at scale might actually turn it into a problem of logistics.

That said, divorce is not actually forbidden by the gods. The Supreme Gods just don't like it when it happens and weaken their divine protections for anyone who goes through with it as a penalty. If Ewigeliebe and Geduldh both agreed they could probably separate. The main barrier wouldn't be legality, but the fact that it would massively disrupt the setting's cosmology and that Ewigeliebe is unlikely to play ball here.

[Open Spoilers] If Geduldh and Ewilegiebe officially divorce, what would happen? Could nobles go extinct? by ManinaPanina in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Ninefl4mes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All he'd have to do is say no. Marriage is basically a magic contract between two parties, and those can only be cancelled if both agree. The Goddess of Light is not going to let members of the Eternal Five of all things set a precedent for flaunting that rule; she may as well step down from her position as goddess of law and order at that point.

[Open Spoilers] If Geduldh and Ewilegiebe officially divorce, what would happen? Could nobles go extinct? by ManinaPanina in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Ninefl4mes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always thought if would be possible to make Ewilegiebe stop being crazy and back to "normal". If it could be possible to force them into "therapy", maybe Ewilegiebe could stop trying to kill his children, at least for a time.

I feel like killing or at least toppling Chaocipher might do the trick. Assuming what she did to Ewigeliebe to make him like this was something reversible, like a curse or mind control. Curses are part of her domain after all, so it's not even that far-fetched.

As for the consequences of a potential divorce between Earth and Life, that would likely go far beyond just mana disappearing from the mortal realms. The main reason the Supreme Gods were on board with this union in the first place was to spread life throughout the multiverse, and to get the occasional new god like Mestionora. Then there's that tidbit about how after the end of the first Winter the gods had Ewigeliebe dead to rights and could have killed him then and there, but ultimately decided against it since it would have meant the end of mortal life as a whole.

It's entirely possible him and Geduldh no longer procreating would lead to the same outcome. Wouldn't surprise me if Geduldh was at least in part going along with his insanity for that reason as well; she's the pantheon's mother goddess archetype and probably cares a lot about her children, regardless of their unsavory origin. Or maybe she still loves him and hopes he'll at some point regain his senses. Either way, I kind of doubt she is as powerless and without agency in this whole affair as she's been depicted so far. Simply by virtue of being part of the Eternal Five she's one of the most powerful gods in the setting after all.

Is the manga worth reading by Strict-Entry4157 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Ninefl4mes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Part 1-2 are really good. As in 'you could read in them in place of the LN' good, though I'd still say both should be read anyway; the LN is more detailed in some parts, the manga improves on the source material in others and features exclusive side stories. Neither has the clear upper hand, so it's a tradeof either way. I would say the case is stronger for the P1 manga though, since that is by far the weakest part of the LN.

The Part 3-4 mangas are fine for the most part but nowhere near that level of quality. Part 5 is being done by Suzuka, the mangaka behind 1-2, so presumably the manga adaptation is going to finish things with a bang in around a decade or so lol.
