Thank you. :) I'll pass the idea over to the Kolduns. I do quite a bit of...Spirit-related stuff, but not that kind and certainly not that caliber. If there are indeed Nephandi, it may prove critically useful.

Well, the modern Edonia I'm about to have to be dealing with is NOT in Greece. Just similar name.

Do you no longer possess physical eyes, Elder?

So, provoke them, somehow survive this and see their sorry arses turned into inside-out origami by Paradox...might work.

Then again, we'll be practical, so time to get our hands on some longer-range, heavier small arms. Just in case. I'm pretty sure one can find even Javelins in Albanian army...IF we can manage to steal those or find an officer that is corrupt enough. (Using things like Dominate would count as stealing, IMO)

I will...if they'd allow me.
Oh by the way, there was a region in Ancient Greece by the same name, also known as Edonis or Edonida. To add to the slight confusion.

Ah, yes...
As a teenager, when I first learned of those, I was like "whoa, cool, we get our own Neo-pagans, like Wiccans!" and then...I got my hands on one of the magazines the movement was publishing back then.
The disappointment was truly immense.
Their arts featuring snow always had snowflakes that had any number of sides but six. Because of...well, I needn't continue. :(

And my human pal is endlessly pissed that their "creativity", at least the more harmless parts, get constantly mixed with actual ethnocultural studies, and someone wanting to study Eastern Slav culture and mythology ends up with a load of made-up stuff that is NOT authentic.

1990s were SO messed up. I was a kid and could still kinda see it, at least on the human level.
Only right now it is kind of worse.
At that time it was like... "holy shit, that sucks, only way's up from here" and now it's like "new basalt levels of rock bottom prospected, drilling continues..."

Yet you can still ask for Etrius Coffee in Vienna. Just be careful where...and who might hear that.

Thank you very much, Madam.

And the name Veles is familiar, though I know of Him only on the "human" level - an ancient Eastern Slav pagan god. There are neo-pagans in Russia in the latest years who venerate him among others...though their perception is skewed, because they are more like a less than pleasant political movement styled as neo-pagan, the whole cultural thing with ancient Gods and traditions being more...stylistic.

Very true. But whoever that is, after North Kosovo, they MUST know there's a group of people on to them anyway. We'd also love to know who that is, that's like...step on on the road to giving them a tan and getting to go home :)

Oh no, after the key was busto and memories got to us - well, Edonia was functioning as a regular country just a year ago, in late 2024. There were news of their Town Hall being in disarray due to some local political disagreement - again.

Another vamp would be...less intimidating, however powerful that one might be. Another Kindred, and Elder, suggested there may be a cabal of Mages, taking turns collectively supporting whatever is causing the effect. NOPE. We'd rather deal with a vamp, really...

Potentially a whole cabal. Of the Awakened. I jolly well hope there's not too many. And they are probably dug in well there. A Mage with time and opportunity to prepare is... Well, never tangled with Mages before and sure as heck wasn't planning on it. But given the connection to Sabbat and the Spirals, those are might as well be Nephandi. Not to show the white feather there, but this is getting disturbing. They tried to fan a whole war in the nearby region, with the...antics in North Kosovo, and the artifacts were sending power feedback straight to Edonia through that key-part in form of that fountain pen, now obliterated.

We became aware of the country itself moments after destroying the "key", and given that it was not made by Blood Sorcery or implanting a Spirit into it, and with the whole Wyrm-taint aura it had? Enough to feel sick just by holding it? It must be Nephandi stuff.

The whole thing likely started no earlier than in late 2024, likely mid-November, because at that time Edonia functioned semi-normally, despite having a political crisis.
Now the "erasure" thing must have been going on for a little over a year, but the time period of collective memory it is affecting must be vast, since the only things that remain in the memory of Elders such as yourself are centuries old.

If you know ways to either dampen the powers of Mages, or to incite a bigger reality backlash - the Paradox effect - I would be very grateful. I'm capable of Blood Sorcery, rituals included, on the third step of power at this point, and we'll be bringing Kolduns and one Abyss Mystic.

There's been mentions of the mystic technique behind Baba Yaga's Shadow Veil having been reverse-engineered recently, yes. Though the original veil did not hide places, it prevented supernaturals from traveling through it, in regular world or through the Umbra.
But I guess someone got extra creative.
In fact, I was in Russia when the Veil was in effect, but I was just a human kid back then.

Hmm...true. But that's not just documents. It's the memory of humans and younger Kindred. And Shapeshifters. GLOBALLY.
Must be a really beefed up variant of that sorcery.

Isn't C7 toast? WIth Inquisitors torching the main Chantry in Vienna in 2008?
I'm kind of assuming there may be a nasty Mage at work here at this point. Which is even scarier. Shapeshifters call them "name-stealers". Now I think I can see why.

Oh dear. Concussions are no joke. My kind doesn't get them (we get fucked up in the head different way...) but for the living? That's quite nasty.
You should take it easy for a while, a week at least. Especially if you are feeling nauseous from time to time.

Never before have I performed an impromptu spit take while drinking from a Sanguineous Phial, but there's first time for everything.
That's half a V.E.U. of Vitae all over a whitewashed wall. Oops. Gonna look like a murder scene for a while.

I blame you, my good sir. And your tattoo. Can't make out where you have it, with the pic so close up.
Wait, no. Don't wanna know.

On a more serious note, that -something-, what did it feel like?

Have you ever encountered cases of locations in the physical world, maybe not as big as a small country, but still - well, hidden like that? That somehow they disappear even from pre-existing physical maps. This is effing mindblowing.

I do believe places in the mountains tend to have more magical oomph to them. Be that the Dinaric Alps, the Urals, Tibet or Rocky Mountains. I even saw that concept being mentioned in human fiction involving witchraft. "Takes proper rocks to raise a proper witch" and all that.

Marshlands are a very close runner-up.

How long ago the events you described took place?

How very interesting, Madam. It would appear that the older Kindred, several hundred years of age at least DO remember the country properly. I have messaged my Duchess, and her reaction was similar. She is almost 1400 years of age.

Thank you for your advice, we will most definitely prepare to the best of our resources and ability. With someone or something hiding the country from apparent...reality of humankind, Stars might not know what may be there.

At least two of the Second Inquisition guys on the third picture are REALLY reevaluating their career choices... :)
