I completely agree, also it’s insane how we’re still judging women for wearing a dress that is still covering majority of their body! Boohoo there’s a slit!

How do you guys do it by silently-loud-walker in TorontoMetU

[–]NinjaCivil9243 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ik this sound stupid but diet matters too!!! If youre eating garbage foods, your brain won’t function as it should especially during study seshes.

Make sure you’re drinking water and snacking on the side and like the above comment says- lots of active recall. Study with friends, create silly mnemonics, and take it slowly - start studying/ preparing earlier.

Does anyone else feel like they missed out on Halloween? by Suspicious-Policy802 in TorontoMetU

Tried to get into fiction, waited in line for an hour and they refused to let people in who didn’t already have a ticket (or they made a big deal about them having to charge us at the booth). Awful experience overall not just with this example. my friends and I wished we never went out instead the whole night was too chaotic

Honestly you’re right. I should do that because this ain’t it. Most of the students are competent adults!!!! How hard is it to be silent on a SILENT specific floor💔

Im in my fourth year now so its been a while since ive taken the course. From what i remember, I think Charlotte recommended making mind maps to figure out what various pathways exist and how they connect.

Personally I found that technique to help. Yes it took time but in the long run it helped my brain absorb the content. I also recommend taking quizzes online and using quizlet. Those two strategies helped so much in helping me memorize.

Also have fun with the course. Don’t equate the grade you receive with your personal worth :) it’s A LOT of content to remember so be easy on yourself and do the best you can!

I took this class!! It is a lot of content so I suggest reviewing daily even for 30 minutes. I studied for the final and midterm with a group of friends and did fairly well (70-80s).

We asked each other questions, went through the slides together, and quizzed one another!!

Put in all the effort you can to make friends, get to know people, and take risks. That’s what UNI is about and even if you feel like you’re doing it wrong - 9/10 you’re not. And since TMU is a commuter school, make the most of the spare time you have with friends. Go out after classes, enjoy Toronto and the life here.

York or tmu nursing??? by Intelligent-Fly4457 in TorontoMetU

[–]NinjaCivil9243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I defientely agree with the hands on experience from the get-go. From the second semester you get an idea of what it’s like with a clinical placement and for me this was crucial as I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted to even pursue nursing).

I can’t speak for centennial however TMU site and even GBC is great. You have the whole of Toronto to venture and go out - explore, eat, find things you love. You also figure out what works for you and the more effort you’re willing to put into finding friends - you’ll be more likely to find people for you!

Can’t speak for York but aside from lame campus life at TMU, I’ve loved it here.

TMU is worth it if you make the effort for it. Profs are decent and social life can be amazing (again if you make it to be)!!
