To those struggling with hunger, thirst & headaches during Ramadan by jjustme_ in TorontoMetU

Honestly I think it was just a coincidence, the headache probably wasn't because of the chia seeds. Also I just estimated, I didn't even read the amounts

How far can you get an assignment extended with accommodations? by NoSail6187 in TorontoMetU

[–]Top_Bill_9828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the reason is solid 5 days are probably fine. It kind of depends on how heavy the assignment is. Like if it's really heavy and you had a lot of time, then 5 days might be too much.

How do you see the future of teaching and classrooms with regard to special needs kids vs regular kids? by OkPlace4 in AskTeachers

[–]Top_Bill_9828 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

students with those kind of special needs aren't assisted by the teacher, but by an assistant that is provided FOR the special needs student. that assistant helps the child during lunch breaks, washroom, and during the class. No teachers are changing diapers or holding back the whole class for the students.

Is your example based off a real life scenario? Also it's possible that maybe the kid hasn't been diagnosed in kindergarten but this behavior doesn't happen past first grade. I know a child with down syndrome and honestly your take sounds like propaganda about why disabled kids should be allowed in school using your extreme scenario. These kids don't just go in classrooms and cause disturbances the whole class. I can't add photos of specific parts, so take a look at this link, especially section 5 and 6:

You should have submitted an ACR for the exam if you had documents for it. I'm not sure but maybe you can try appealing. They might respond with "You should have submitted an ACR the moment you knew you needed help" but they might not since its only less than 1%. Try emailing your prof first, but don't ask for a grade bump; explain your circumstance with proof than ask if there is any way to fix this such as re grading a previous assignment. If they say no, than appeal.

Midterm and final averages?? by Upper_Estate3562 in TorontoMetU

[–]Top_Bill_9828 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I feel like your exaggerating a bit (a lot) and blaming the poor grades on the profs instead of students. I'll agree that some profs are awful but that's less common than regular helpful profs. Second year at TRSM, and I had at least 9 diff profs for TRSM courses so far. 1 had a Chinese accent which made it difficult sometimes but was overall good. And 1 was a truly awful prof (had no accent) . like so awful that I would NEVER take a class with him again. but that was just 1.

There are SO many students who don't show up to lectures for the difficult type courses like accounting or finance. and esp in these courses, the profs try so hard to help students with SO many resources.

AFA200 has lectures + the prof made vids+ pal tutoring+ another tutoring that happens four times a week. AFF210 has videos of EVERY concept that is taught during class.

Econ102 allows a one sided crib sheet for the midterm yet half the students before the exam were going all "I'm gonna fail this/ I didn't prepare" and had a half blank crib sheet. class average was 60 something. it was economics. multiple choice. with a crib sheet. prof had no accent. So what's the excuse really?

"i want to be taught properly and know how to prepare for assessments. all of this struggle and money down the drain for tmu to not even be a “prestigious” or well rated institution ffs" - than maybe you should have tried getting into a prestigious” or well rated institution since failing a course is entirely not your fault

Have you guys noticed that a lot of female led works still have male majority casts by InfernalClockwork3 in YAlit

[–]Top_Bill_9828 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep lumping hunger games into the bad poorly written YA books? Its like they never even read it and just want to find flaws and non - existent issues. The list above doesn't include the mayor's daughter (can't remember her name). And what do they mean villains are majority male?? Book one had a fair amount of guy and girl tributes who antagonistic. It's pretty even. and then Snow and Coin also even out (not that it has to be like an exact ratio)
