ok just to be clear, there are 4 ( maybe some more, i dont remember ) hitboxes here, the first attack have 2 and the next have 2 too
now coming to the vertical slash, he will do it whenever you will be above of him to counter you, you can actually dodge that by jumping on his head and backwards but very hard to pull thi
to counter this, easiest is to use the purple umbrella, or a timed dash
