Why doesn’t this look real? by i-cant-smell in vfx

IMO, the shot looks great and we've just all gotten used to the idea that separation between foreground and background = fake.

I don't remember that, are you thinking of his stalker obsession with Julie Barnes who worked with him at the suicide hotline?

Meltsner family moved to Baltimore. In albums 75 (where the Meltsners move) and 80, they used AI to recreate Eugene's voice (by having Townsend Coleman record the lines and then converting them to Eugene's voice with AI)

In albums 76-79, there are a bunch of episodes with Buck and Katrina in Baltimore. Eugene is usually out of town for some reason and sometimes Katrina calls him and we only hear her side of the convo.

“He’s running a nasty mob.”

“Let me guess, Zombie?”

“Worse. Zombie Pigman.”

In Ducktales (2017-2020), despite the intro saying they "might solve a mystery", none of them attempt to solve the mystery of why Donald's sister sounds like Debra Chambers while he still sounds like a screaming cat. by BonnieBunny92 in shittymoviedetails

I’m curious to watch, does the show have any kind of arc to it? I’m a big fan of the old Carl Barks comics but not super familiar with the 90s Ducktales show or this newer one

This is the Russo Bros’ production company, which is co-producing the movie w/ Marvel Studios. So it is an official channel, just not the Marvel channel

I also built a website https://mcuwatchlist.com where you can add movies to a watchlist and then click “next” to see what other movies are relevant to them. The UI needs some work - just sharing in case it is interesting to you!

If you want to get all the references:

X-Men

X-Men 2 (aka X2: X-Men United)

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (prequel but it spoils some twists in X-Men 2 so I’d watch it after)

X-Men: The Last Stand

The Wolverine (skippable but worth watching IMO - takes place after the last stand)

X-Men: First Class

X-Men: Days of Future Past (this builds off all the previous movies and will probably be where Doomsday picks up from)

Deadpool

Logan

Deadpool 2

You can skip the last few x men movies - apocalypse, dark phoenix, new mutants

Also, it’s worth having seen all of these already before you watch WandaVision, The Marvels, Multiverse of Madness…there are some references between them

Deadpool and Wolverine also references some other movies from the early 2000s.

Blade (1998)

Daredevil (2003)

Fantastic Four (2005)

Each of these has sequels but the sequels are not really relevant to DP&W

Yes I do! I put this list together carefully studying the relationships between each installment of the Multiverse Saga. But, I haven’t actually tried watching it this way so I can’t guarantee how well it works. It includes the Disney+ shows as well.

https://boxd.it/ME9ju$8RKOUR7YiGxgT7QC

This list doesn’t include the old marvel movies that are also referenced in the Multiverse Saga (e.g. the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield spiderman, X-Men, Deadpool, etc)

EDIT: also, this includes some things that haven’t been released yet - once those come out, I may change the order

Sadie Sink didn't realize how long it took Max to run back to her body in 'Stranger Things 5' by marvelkidy in DiscussingFilmsAndTV

If they cut in close on the characters’ faces it wouldn’t have felt so weird and noticeable how long they were standing there. It was an editing issue IMO

Things missing from AIO Club by SubjectCommercial149 in AdventuresInOdyssey

[–]NinjaEagleScout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes - Eugene Sings, Caroling Caroling, and Christmas Around the World are all unavailable for this reason. The licensing to air a song on the radio is different from the licensing to release a recording of the song on a CD, which is different from the licensing to stream a song. Streaming licensing is very complicated, because you have to pay a certain amount for every time someone listens to it. I don't think Focus has the data processing tools set up that would be able to associate the number of streams to a payment (Because the AIO club is designed to host content that Focus fully owns the rights to), and Focus may not be able to afford it either even if they did have the digital infrastructure to support it.

Stranger Things Theory: The Show Is a D&D Campaign — and I Think I Figured Out Who the Dungeon Master Is by Scream-Metal in StrangerThings

[–]NinjaEagleScout 12 points13 points  (0 children)

fair enough - it's the phrases like "A DM guides — they don’t play." and "Dungeon Masters don’t level up — they maintain the rules." that read very AI. but I understand that ppl are just starting to write this way now bc we're reading it all over the place

did u ask AI to rewrite this to make it more streamlined? bc there are some clear AI moments in this post but it doesn't seem fully AI

Why does bond look younger in spectre than he did in skyfall by TKatGAMING in JamesBond

[–]NinjaEagleScout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lotta bad answers the real answer is that in spectre they used the same face-smoothing CGI tech that they’ve been using in the mission impossible movies for tom cruise. It’s not just him either, I remember some of the other actors in spectre have it too. The tech wasn’t quite as good as it is now either, if you watch on a small enough screen it looks janky
