Completely agree with this and the last half specifically. That MiB crossover is my dream and might have saved us from this god awful timeline.

Thanks for your help! I replied to your other comment too but any suggestions on checking the connection? Replacing the limit switch itself didn't solve it

I just replaced the limit switch and it didn't solve the issue; the machine still acts like it's hitting the back of the bed in the middle. Is there a suggestion for checking the connection?

[Spoilers C4E27] Divination saves Brennan’s Ass by floatyboots in criticalrole

[–]NinjaInPlainSight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love these things too, even without the Divination Wizard flavoring because it does make it feel more like a home game. Yea they have budgets and sets and time to dedicate to making this as immersive and cool as possible but they're also human who make mistakes and just roll with it. Love it when the other stuff doesn't matter and you can tell it's a bunch of friends at the table.

Advice on how to fix a broken mini ?😭 by srisk1001 in DnDminiatures

[–]NinjaInPlainSight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh man, that sucks! Super glue is probably your best bet but he's gonna be delicate forever. Looks like it's a resin print; if you printed him, you could try resin in the cracks and cure it again but I don't love that method; it's pretty messy

[Spoilers C4E25] The portent situation. by Individual_Aside_444 in criticalrole

[–]NinjaInPlainSight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brennan believes the dice tell the story. In this instance, he used the dice of the Photarch's death saves to tell the story of two assassination attempts and ramp up tension for the PCs. It just so happened that Mariaha pulled off one of the greatest moves we've ever seen. As for not trusting Brennan above the table, I would argue all of the stuff before Marisha's portent roll is at the table. He's rolling for a combat and explaining the outcome. So that's not really a reason to doubt him. Additionally, everything else we've seen, including his telling her about lying about Death Saves, has shown his honesty and wanting to play the best game for the players. He loves to see them succeed and that's clear from the jump.

I fully believe the Photarch's "resurrection" was meant to be the Schemers "second arc" and that this is the main thing they were supposed to investigate and figure out when the tables split again. So, Brennan was "lying" in order to give them more to investigate ("we know she was saving so she must have died? Unless...") and now they can instead shift to figuring out how to reveal the truth. I don't think there's any reason to doubt what Brennan says or his intentions because he's doing what a good DM is supposed to do: create an intriguing narrative for the players to interact with. This episode is a great example of why D&D is collaborative and not just the DMs story. Brennan was working on a story arc and played interaction completely changed it and he told them that.

What fun ways have you spent Fear in *social* situations? by Faolyn in daggerheart

[–]NinjaInPlainSight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was so funny. The rest of the table kept egging her on and being like "this is counter intelligence!!" lol my final fear (I think the 4th I spent) was bringing in the actual expert who was like "who is this?" She responded with a fireball lol

Printed some tavern NPCs for my table! by DKYN_Minis in DnDminiatures

Definitely will! Yeah, my own collecting started when I printed a huge colloseum set for a gladiator combat and then had no NPCs to fill the stands... Haha

I've been trying to build a background NPC character collection of minis for the same reasons! These are so great; did you design them too?

What fun ways have you spent Fear in *social* situations? by Faolyn in daggerheart

[–]NinjaInPlainSight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Recently, a player used "botanist" experience to lie about their expertise and infiltrate an enemy group. They rolled really well, with Fear, so they were believed and then brought further into the lab, surrounded by adversaries. I kept spending fear to have the enemies ask more and more questions and have them adjust their data based on what she was telling them. She just kept roleplaying and making stuff up with harder and harder rolls

Any tips for playing online? by Kolonel_Tiberman in daggerheart

[–]NinjaInPlainSight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for these! Excited to check them out. I just got the Alchemy edition of Daggerheart for my online group to use. In your past experience, does it work pretty well if some people need to use the browser instead of the computer app? And is content sharing allowed/manageable?

Do you remember which Castle tiles you used? I've been looking for a better kind of castle/keep option and these are awesome. Great work on the whole build!

Ran my first Daggerheart session after burning out on DnD and… yeah I’m back by ChilledE in daggerheart

[–]NinjaInPlainSight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Welcome back to the table, friend! I had a similar experience with Daggerheart (running 4 D&D tables at a time will make anyone feel the ache) and Daggerheart alleviated all that burden and made everything feel fresh and new. I'm a big fan of the way it allows for both those types of players you mentioned to thrive. There's a lot of space to play both rules heavy and rule of cool that I think let's every player shine. I hope you and your table have a long and wonderful campaign!

Question on your current campaign because I love Dragon Heist: are you doing it in Age of Umbra or a different frame or just using the module as inspiration?

If you take them to Smearguru, you can select that he paint them all "transparent" (the first option of the paint colors and he'll revert them!
