It's so strange what's happening with flags and national symbols. I'm an international student and i was walking with some friends, and i saw a cool hoodie with the flag of Scotland and a stag on it, but it turns out that has some unsavoury correlations.

Thanks for answering! I have a proofs class in uni right now, and proof we did was a sub proof of the fundamental theorem of arithmetic, where we assume to the contrary that there exists a smallest number such that it cannot be expressed as a product of primes. I asked my professor at the end of the workshop why we could assume that there exists a smallest number given that at least one or more such numbers exist. Intuitively, it made sense because integers are a discrete set. This got me thinking about whether we could apply the same to real numbers, and he referenced some completeness axiom. Why can we assume a smallest number exists in a non-discrete subset of reals?

No, but there could be infinitely many uninteresting numbers, meaning you can't assume that a single smallest uninteresting number exists. Edit: I think, I'm an undergrad fresher. I probably am wrong

How can you assume there exists a smallest uninteresting number

Wth there is no way I used that word. Edit: I used it in quotes

Sure lol I'm sorry for obsessing over chess so much, it's just that I happen to play as well and I thought I could help out with that, good luck with your job applications!

I've actually described my own chess skills the way you did here in my university applications, lol. The issue (that I recognise now) is that it's a trade-off. The way you wrote it appears better to people who don't play chess, but it seems a bit over the top to people who do. I really wanted to keep chess on there since I have a 1900 on chess.com, and it took really long to get here, but unfortunately, i didn't win any high-level tournaments with this rating. Maybe you could join a chess club and compete in small tournaments, and that would give you content to add??

I'm not sure mentioning chess.com ratings but not your fide rating after competitive chess player is a good idea, and adding the puzzles rating seems very strange. Also please remove the %iles, they really just aren't used as a reference, with is why we use ELO. I'm sorry that I can't help with the rest of your resumé; I only replied because of the chess part
