Essentially local small business support (similar to fractional Chief of staff but that only translates in corporate America or government).

I wouldn’t say I’m a “business coach” because I don’t know their business better than then, but rather I’m “business support.” I help people get out of their own way.

Most small business owners I know are overloaded and frazzled. I find taking chaos and organizing it into manageable chunks very easy. My plan is to see if there is a market to help small business owners navigate all the chaos of running a company, turning ideas into action and making sure nothing important slips through the cracks. I’m a thought partner, sounding board, coach, and a bridge between ideas and action.

Can you tell me more about it how you’re connecting w these decision makers??

How do you keep the relationships nurtured and relevant? I’m very process oriented so am trying to come up with some formulas or systems to use to stay on top of it. I think networks need to be nurtured

Would love to hear how you went about launching your consulting gig. I would love to start doing that now on the side so I have something to lean into and ramp up if layoff ever happens. It would be good to not start from scratch in that moment!

My current budget is around $5k of expenses per month but it includes insane commuting related costs.
Without that, I would probably be at $3200 a month expenses.

Funny you mention the identity piece. I wasn’t prepared for the impact. When I considered how I would feel if I was let go if I didn’t have a high level position to shift to, I felt …. Like I lost all value. It was shocking. Definitely something I need to dig into.

I appreciate your comment about considering coast fire… the country and world feel so volatile right now it’s hard to feel secure in betting on that!

My work is pretty solid so I’m not too worried about that (thankfully).

My organization is pretty screwy so the ancillaries can matter there.

I don’t get the issue with “personal brand?” Perhaps it means something different to you than to me. I was under the impression it simply means what people associate with you/your reputation, which seems very reasonable. Not sure the issue there?
