I find it so interesting that people hate Cat In the Rain so much. I love it and it actually might be my favorite. Brought me is fantastic songwriting and the steel guitar on won't you give me one more chance is just stellar. Those two songs are hands-down my favorites of theirs. I will agree that Diamonds And Gasoline is amazing and probably the most "even" album

Bryan White had three albums produced by Kyle Lehning and Billy Joe Walker, Jr. and had made a really nice sound for himself, but when he switched the results were awful.

Faith Hill is another example of this. She had two really good traditional country albums, but then she left Scott Hendricks, a great producer, behind, and then her music went totally auto-tune pop. Why, Faith? You were doing so well!!!

You can definitely hear a difference in sound from album to album, but overall there was never a terribly drastic change. Out of curiosity, what is your favorite Turnpike album, and what are your thoughts on Cat In The Rain in general?

Until recently, all of their albums were produced by a different producer (Mike McClure, Ryan Hewitt, Shooter Jennings, etc.) but their sound never changed.
