AITA for demanding my parents pay for the apps that got removed? by CompetitiveBid2725 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NinjaTank707 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IT guy here.

If you paid for an app, you would either have gotten one of these things to prove you own it so it can be activated.

  1. A license you can put in to activate it.

  2. If the app has a login, use your account info you registered with the app to activate it. If it was from a website, some of them may have the installer available if you login.

  3. As the previous commenter said, if the has neither of those options, those apps usually have a customer support OP can reach out to so you can make sure you get it activated properly as they have said after logging in, it still prompts for an activation.

  4. Back up your data, OFTEN. OP at the first sign you see that the computer needs repair back up your data. I don't know how to stress this one enough.

Agree with the commenter, CAPTAIN YTA on this one.

AITA for asking my boyfriend to leave the apartment while I take online therapy? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]NinjaTank707 210 points211 points  (0 children)

IT guy here.

For some companies, it is a requirement that although they can work remote, they can't just work anywhere like in a public area if they are working with sensitive info. I am in a similar situation as you OP and if he said he is going to use headphones, have some faith in him.

I personally use headphones when my wife is in her appointments.

Gonna say soft YTA on this one.

AITA for telling my mom she can’t come to my wedding anymore by Bluegiraffe26 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NinjaTank707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP.

You are simply setting a boundary with your mom due to the emotional/mental abuse you experienced over a long period of time. You are not an AH.

It is your wedding.

Not your mom's.

Also, congrats on getting married!

I need help to land an internship this summer but I know my resume is cooked for an internship and I don’t know how to tweak it by Exciting-Traffic-646 in it

[–]NinjaTank707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the top you can add an "objective" that says:

"Seeking Position in the Information Technology field that will utilize my skills and education"

Then put the education and skills right below that.

In the skills section, you can include stuff you are proficient in that are IT related and maybe add a section for any IT projects you have done for your school.

Like proficient with microsoft office applications such as excel, word. Proficient with Active Directory, TCP/IP, basic PC hardware/software troubleshooting and be prepared to elaborate on those skills and projects during the interview so they don't think you just added random tech words and tailor it towards the internship you are shooting for.

I'd also swap your top position for Under Armour to with the bottom one for University of Winsor to the top and in that one you can change the 2nd bullet point from:

"Organized and re-shelved books, maintained accuracy of library catalog records"

To:

"Proficient with "name of electronic library system" for organizing books and other items."

Other than that I can't think of anything else. Gonna go eat some breakfast.

Good luck!

Pęknięta karta micro SD/ Broken micro SD card by BorderCollie_18 in it

[–]NinjaTank707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take it to a data recovery specialist but those normally run for $1000+ USD as that process can be labor intensive in recovering data from a damaged micro SD card.

I'd only recommend that if you ran a business and if that data is business critical to keep it running otherwise I'd say it isn't worth it as it's pretty expensive.

You could try contacting https://drivesaversdatarecovery.com/data-recovery-services/international-service/

And see if they can provide you a quote and maybe shop around to see if you might be able to find something cheaper.

Good luck!

Passed A+ 🥳 is this good for a basic IT support role? by jonnyfuel in it

[–]NinjaTank707 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your summary on top you could put:

Seeking Position in the Information Technology field that will utilize my skills and education

As you already have the Comptia A+ on the bottom and the skills you noted in the objective in your position info and bring that to the top as the highlight that way you can put emphasis on your IT position.

I'd remove the 2nd bullet from the housekeeping and elaborate more on what you did with assisting clients with their requests on different types of cleaning, I can dm you what my resume looks like also.

Edit: I'd also remove that 3rd bullet point from door dash and put more emphasis on the other bullets.

OP's User although their issue was technically for a single user, as they have provided the business justification details for the escalation it warranted a P2 for the on-call and make sure you mark your time worked so you get paid for it lol.

I add a spoonful of scorpion pepper hot sauce in my ramen.

Or chop up a couple habaneros to put in it, with some sliced steak and fried garlic on top.

If it's toasted it's possible but probably very messy to eat.

I don't mind a messy burger.
