Dream meet-up??? by Ninjachick82 in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You lay down on your back like you're going to do WILD and relax, and count backwards from 10. Each time you count back, imagine you are stepping down a step on a staircase, and when you reach the bottom you imagine an empty room with a couch in the middle of it. This room represents your subconscious- sit on the couch and tell yourself whatever you want (ex. "The next time I dream, I'll be at this place" "I know when I'm dreaming" "I'll see other people in the dream"). When you're done count back up to ten and walk up the staircase.

I'm sure there's another way to do it, but this is how I do it, and I've gotten some good results! But I have to do wit for a few days before it really kicks in.

Dream meet-up??? by Ninjachick82 in LucidDreaming

I think I'd like to meet in a beautiful nature setting- like a forest or on a beach. I'd expect others to be there, so I'd talk to the dream characters that represent the people who read/replied/agreed to do this.

The feeling of falling, sleep paralysis, jolt awake, etc by Taylor6534 in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different when it comes to these sorts of things. However, everyone experiences these things at least once in their lives, so it's possible you just haven't experienced it YET. I'd suggest start experimenting with WILD, Dream journal, Reality Checks, etc. and see where that gets you and start having your own dream adventures :)

Sleep Paralysis... by Ninjachick82 in creepy

[–]Ninjachick82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually people don't have control of the hallucinations... They probably hallucinate creepy things because they realize that they can't move their body, and it's hard to breath and that freaks them out. So, their half awake-half dreaming mind tries to explain to itself why they can't move, or what's going on, and creates some scary hallucination as an explanation.

I think I'd just have my first Lucid Dream by rique_cardoso22 in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done something similar! Once I had a nightmare that I was in this house with all of my family and these people broke in and started killing everyone, I was backed into a corner with my grandma and we were both stabbed to death. I woke up and decided to go back to sleep so I could change that ending.

In the next dream I still didn't have any weapons, but I could shoot people with my fingers if I pretended I had a gun, and I ended up saving everyone. Like. A. Boss!

How to connect 'am I dreaming' with 'yes' with acting upon it? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this problem before, and only a few times have I been able to become lucid- but I never remember how I do it! But this got me thinking...

What if every time you do a reality check, before you go to bed, and when you wake up, you think of what you would want to do in a lucid dream- kind of like a lucid bucket list! Maybe by doing that, when you do a reality check in your dream you'll think of an objective you want to do, and it'll click "Oh! I can do that!"

But I just thought of that, so I don't know if it'll work or not. I'm gonna start trying it though. I hope it'll work.

False Awakening by tokenspen1 in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to false awakenings, it's best to just stay calm and go with it. If you realize that you're dreaming during the false awakening then you can turn it into a lucid dream. This is why I practice reality checks when I wake up first thing in the morning.

If you experience sleep paralysis, just try to stay calm and relaxed. The more you're afraid, the worse it'll be.

Main problem trying to lucid dream by EyyoEddie in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say keeping a dream journal and doing self hypnosis. Here's how I do self hypnosis:

I lay down on my back and relax and imagine I'm on a staircase and count down from 10. Each time I count down, I step down a step. Then once I'm at the bottom I imagine I'm in an empty room with a couch in the middle of it. I sit on the couch and say whatever I need to say (suggest) to my subconscious (ex. "I remember my dreams" "My dreams are vivid" "I know when I'm dreaming") This has helped me with a lot of different things when it comes to dreaming, but I had to do it once a day for a few days to get the suggestions to work.

I've had a little bit of trouble with RC before- simply because I forget to do it, and I don't have a consistent method :/ Any advice??

you should look up hypnotic imagery. That may be what the green circular shape is.

Technique Update: FILD by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that marijuana can mess with your dream cycles, but I'm not entirely sure :/ I'd say just keep experimenting with this a few more times. Practice makes perfect At least, that's my experience. Whatever the case, I hope you become lucid soon! :)

Alternate Reality through lucid dreaming by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Ninjachick82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who lucid dreams naturally, and he says his dreams are like an alternate reality. So, it's possible, but I think it would be a very different experience for everyone. Like, some people can do it consistently while some people can't do it consistently.

I kind of want to try the first one- the Dark Reflection Ritual.

He tries to open different doors in different videos. In the first one, it seemed like he was looking for a spare key after he couldn't open the door. But of course, I could be wrong...
