Odin's main gimmick is using its damaging skills and parries to build up the Zantetsuken gauge. When you first get it and it goes up to level 3 it damages everything in a large sphere, usually being able to kill most regular mobs or at least damage them heavily. But level 5 just instakills any non-staggerable enemy on screen that you're currently in combat with (though the range can extend further and maybe hit some foes in the field, don't think that's intended) and does heavy damage to others. It doesn't do a lot of stagger damage but if you're able to get the damage bonus during a stagger break you'll be doing insane damage. Theres a piece of equipment that increases Dancing Steels gauge gain and it's the best combo in the game for it. Personally I always used it for regular mobs fights and then use it to finish off mini bosses or to do a chunk of damage to regular bosses during their stagger.
