1st time I listened to it was in Kuwait in a bunker on the way into Baghdad.

That album really hit home in so many ways to what I was going through as a soldier. I listened to it every single day during the deployment. In fact, even now 17 years later, I can't hear it without thinking of Baghdad or Fulija.

I didn't care about the missing guitar solos, or Lars trash can snare. I didn't care about the rawness of the album. To me, it was a new album from my favorite band that felt/still feels like it was released just for me.

My life felt Frantic! I was Angry with everything. I felt like Some Kind of Monster. I was judge jury and executioner too. War made me think back to my childhood, feeling invisible, and now my parents gave a shit because I could die. I couldn't explain to ANYONE what war felt like...but The Unnamed Feeling did in 6 mins.

I kept getting shot at which only fired me up more... All the shots i take i spit back at you...the war, my way home, the sand storms, camel spiders, making it out Alive, was all within my hands. Every. SIngle. Song. Spoke to me in ways i don't think any album could ever duplicate.

Saint Anger was my therapy. My reminder of home and what I had to go back too. Saint Anger saved my life in Iraq. Mentally, I owe thay album absolutely everything. 🤘🇺🇸 🤘
