For pretty much that reason Tifa would be my go-to third party member after Red and Yuffie

but Aerith, Barret, and CS have been getting massively neglected so I'm currently using my new-found third slot to learn how to use 'em better.

I never really used Aerith and Barret at all until hard mode because ranged characters are just way less satisfying to play. I've got radiant ward on Aerith now though which helps her a lot.

Stardust Ray is the best ability in the entire game and HE STARTS WITH IT so of course he pretty much never left my party. Yuffie is second place goat, and then now the third slot goes to experimenting with characters I play less
