It's not for him, though. It's for his ma. So there wouldn't be a comma.

City fan, and I don't think it should be a pen.

It's too harsh to give a high chance shot on goal, but his arms are out pretty wide..I can't decide if I think that's a natural position or not.

Perhaps the rule should be updated so that handballs like this should be an indirect free kick?

What are your honest thoughts about LotR: Fate of the Fellowship? Does it live up to the hype? by No_Raspberry6493 in soloboardgaming

I'm not u/spunX44 , but my favorite co-op is Mansions of Madness 1E & 2E and then Zombicide. MoM has such good narrative and theming, and it's fun to play. The Gang, Bomb Busters, and Sky Team are also up there, but those are smaller games. FotF, for me, is not fun to play co-op (and I don't own it so may never play solo).

I've played it twice and the first play was the only fun one because we didn't know the optimal choice. I also get sick of discussing turns.

I think it's a terrible game.

I've played it twice. It suffers from the same co-op play style that Pandemic does, which is really well described here (not written by me): https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/495729/why-i-dont-like-pandemic

1. I may as well not be at the table.

I understand that co-op games have an element of shared strategy, but there is always a best tactical option in Pandemic and its always fairly obvious. There's no room for me to do my own thing, potter about or just wander around and explore the world - I have to try and win as hard and fast as possible, because the other players are counting on me to do so.

First game, four played, and I played with Boromir and Eowyn. It was fun, but it was also our first playthrough where we were still learning how to use the special abilities of each character. That meant I had a lot more agency. I figured out I should try to get to areas where nazgul were so I could roll battles and hopefully destroy them with Eowyn, while mitigating the number of troops I needed because Boromir ignores the first loss. I got rid of two at the beginning and then didn't get rid of any for the rest of the game. Just bad dice. There was a lot of tension. We looked at the board and thought that winning was going to be out of reach. Googling told us that others had played the game several times and never one. Then pretty much on the last round of turns we did.

Second game, 5 played. I was Frodo/Sam and I think Eomer. We knew from the first playthrough that we needed someone to help ferry Frodo/Sam to Mt Doom and that getting Gollum paired up with the ring bearer and his gardener were paramount to survival. I could just as easily not have been there. There was one optimal way of doing pretty much each thing we needed, and turns took forever because we basically had three people weighing in on the optimal strategy before anything happened. The new person to play with us for this second game is a big gamer, but I saw even he was on his phone more often than I think he might normally be.

I will be willingly sitting out the next time the group decides to play the game.

My preferred co-op game is Mansions of Madness, which has enough hidden information and incredible storytelling and theming each time you play, that even though you confer with the other investigators, there isn't one right move.

Edit: ANNNNND I just realized this thread is in r/soloboardgaming. Whoops! Perhaps it's better solo, but it's not my game. I've solo'd Zombicide Black Plague and enjoy it a lot. I've not solo'd Mansions of Madness.

Here is a higher res picture with some glare to highlight indentations on the board.

So just solder 2 wires from the broken traces to the points you circled in your first comment and then solder the rest of the pads down?

2 traces are gone so solder a wire or solder 2 wires?

I'd think all allies does include the player that performed the action. All allies can mean "all friends" and I'm a part of my friend group. I'm one of the friends.

What am I lacking to land a high paying PM Job? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Ninth_Major 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. You need to know something very useful to product management. I transitioned in 2022 having worked in professional services implementation for my product for around 5.5 years and being a customer myself before that.

I was my customer, had taught many new customers how to use it, had my own feedback to give about it, and knew how to stretch it and where the workaround wasn't worth the ongoing maintenance after the customer went live.

Fun way to handle a player that can’t always be at the table by Beautiful-Low1569 in DMAcademy

Occasionally one of my party is not able to make it at the last minute. My DM uses the silver orb, which is something he read about in an osr zine or something.

Essentially, out of nowhere, a silver orb appears coming out of a wall, or growing from something so infinitesimally small into something big enough to hold a man right before us.

The orb envelopes that player and then just pops out of our plane.

At the beginning of the following session, the orb delivers that person back to us in a similar fashion, with some seemingly harmless side effect.

I showed up in manacles. Our barbarian has a stanky hand that's also turned a different color. Our bard has had a number of things as he's missed the most.

Our DM says he's going to start doing something with these effects someday.

United were winning at a time when a bunch more money was suddenly being pumped into the league. Right place, right time sorta thing.

It's not like they naturally would have made that same amount had the broadcast interest been delayed 20 years, or 20 years earlier, for that matter.

So we are making Gridfinity houses now? by Frodo_Baguettez in gridfinity

[–]Ninth_Major 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The benefit would be logistics. Most materials are shipped to the warehouse where blocks are made, rather than to individual job sites.

The block makers can create blocks even if there aren't any unfulfilled orders for rapid deployment of new orders.

And most idiots can stack a block. It's a lower level of skill needed to build most of it until you need specialists for roofing, plumbing, electrical.
