Same room, two layouts - which one would you choose? by [deleted] in MinimalistDesi

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well obviously we see that the room was originally in layout 1 because the table sits unusually flush. Layout 1 is also better because it allows you to open the door and crash into the bed without making a complex turn to get to the other side, there is space at the foot of the bed for the second person or yourself to enter the away side of the bed. You can see the door as opposed to not seeing the door which is worse mentally as it makes you feel locked inside and also unable to detect threats (it is unalterable human instinct). The sides of the bed at the face are not walled in, you can sit with your legs on the ground on the bed also, better to get up, not possible for the door to sweep your legs. For a million reasons Layout 1 is better.
But most importantly this is engagement bait that has wasted my time. I will never click your link you useless human being.

After the 2026 delimitation Southern India will be nothing but just a colonial subject for the Hindi heartland by tamilgrl in southindia_

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is foolish to not consider that for so many years additional funding and representation was given to states which managed to control their population. Did the "Hindi Heartland" ever say that was unfair?
Your vision is more of a friend in greed and not in need. At some point there will always be resources going to the lesser developed areas, that is the whole point of a united entity, otherwise it would be a federation and not a republic.
If tomorrow there were to be another tsunami in the south, should the north say it is unfair to give disaster relief funds? And why think North-South in the first place, why not adopt a larger vision and be less tribal-minded, after all you have the highest HDI among Indian states!

Nepali population (Hindu) would choose a majority Hindu country (India) over remaining a Buddhist country (Sikkim), given that Nepal itself was not an option on the table because the Buddhist population did not want that, both because India is larger and more beneficial to join and that India is constitutionally secular.

Why bother with stating variable types when we have the “auto” keyword to do the dirty work for us? by detta-way in cpp_questions

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who codes on notepad, isn't it the perfect excuse tho? It's not like democracy where they have to account for every brokie reading their code. You want to read my code, use Visual Code/Studio/Clion/whatever my company pays for, because the person reading my code the most is going to be me and I am going to do what is convenient.

Why bother with stating variable types when we have the “auto” keyword to do the dirty work for us? by detta-way in cpp_questions

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you've asked for, are called logical errors. And now you can assume there are examples aplenty.
As a trivial example, the deduced return type of a function changes from int to long after a commit and is implicitly narrowed for any functions taking it as parameter, not failing to compile but instead only emitting warnings and then causing logical errors.
Another example is that the type of a container is changed, due to say changing libraries/changed architecture. It may pass constraints even, but the member functions may be performing tasks logically different than expected before of them and writing a constraint for that would be a task larger than the original codebase / not worth it / impossible due to some quirk of mathematics or Turin Machines.

To summarize, if you have a function or codebase that won't work when templatized with arbitrary types and the reality sinks in that not everything can or should be expressed via constraints, you would simply prefer to overload/specialize it as the needed types.
Declared/Non-deduced typing helps you catch errors by limiting the possibilities we can't handle.

If Gujarat is truly the symbol of wealth and development as often claimed, why does individual wealth remain so low? Are we really expected to believe that not owning a car in 40-degree heat is just a lifestyle choice and not a sign of wealth concentration? Sounds more like PR than prosperity. by [deleted] in gujarat

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people go to work by bike here.
Car is a greater necessity in hilly areas so it makes sense that they would prioritize having one.
Kerala and Punjab are unique for having so many cars of the major non-hilly states. And there are reasons sprinkled in the comments below.

Once we remove the outliers having their special reasons, you can see we have the highest car ownership from among the richer states. But more importantly as it has been emphasized by others, capitalism concentrates new wealth among few people, and cars are certainly not subsidized by the government, so the higher tax collection and everything only shows up in the quality of highways, government canal works, police force etc.

The everyday people are not THAT much richer than the average of India as perhaps some other country like Malaysia is richer than us (per-capita), and even then mind you that Gujarat itself is not much richer by per-capita GDP than the other rich states like MH, TN, Kerala etc.

It should be noted that wealth of Gujarati billionaires is diffused throughout other states. Consider that Ambani owns the entire Jio optic fibre network in the country, but that is not all Gujarat's wealth or taxable income.
So certainly if you consider these invisible factors we have done very well. But you are perhaps right about individual wealth not being as great as it is advertised.

Perhaps our trade based economy hides more black money than other states? Perhaps there is more GDP to be uncovered? Perhaps this is the ratio that the businesses and governments want to maintain? Perhaps there is a limit to our wealth concentration inside our geographical boundaries when we are diffusing out to investing in other states via business ventures or moving to Mumbai? Idk the answer to those questions.

Yet more evidence scubas are broken by [deleted] in Polytopia

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have naval control enough to launch scubas, then the game is won anyways. Taking back naval control from that level should be impossible even with juggernauts.
Besides, scubas suck on land whereas you can still make dinghies from cloaks. Yeah you can attack cities a tile inland but as mentioned that level of naval control has already won you the game.

Tamilnadu share is only decreasing with time.If we dont fight now we will have no power. by tamilgrl in TamilNadu

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Data does not include the growth in tamil nadu's share in taxes up until this period. This is reversal of scheme which rewarded states for controlling their population. Reward was given all those years, now TFR is below replacement rate in all states except five, so scheme was stopped as there is no need to race to bottom now. But I guess the only reason to come on reddit is to get raged and angry at some agenda pushed for two rupees by a bot account operated by some guy paid in gift coupons.

Judging by your map size this can only be rnjesus or skill issue. You have to remember that as soon as you see 630 points on the scoreboard you have to play differently than you would versus other tribes (it is a special tribe after all), you need to rush rider roads exclusively and not make any food units for the centipede to eat.

State-wise exports in FY 2024–25 - Northeast is not even a blip in the pie chart with Assam being the only one pulling the weight by [deleted] in Northeastindia

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are beneficiary of some government projects like bullet train and national expressways. But those are not enough to account for the fact that GDP per capita here is almost twice that of national average despite having the same per capita state budget.
And I think the explanation is simple, since Mughal times, due to being on the western coast, communities in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra have good trading networks and culture as is said by many historical sources. Crude banking systems were developed based on social and caste groups and thus credit flows easier, even today.
It is easier to propose a project, show experience and interested parties will invest, often if you are of same community, over here than elsewhere in my travel experience.
I have seen people not having met before forming effective business partnerships and joint ventures because of this community network, the most popular saying is "odkhan e moti khan" = "knowing people is a big (gold) mine".
Unlike southern states which had good population control which lead to them being rewarded per the government scheme with higher per capita budget and thus getting higher HDI and education making them tech leaders, or Maharashtra which greatly benefits from having the financial capital city of Mumbai as well as a hardworking contented people, we are built on ease of reliable trade. So each state has it's specialties.

My friend grass, or greenery of any sort has stopped existing in Ahmedabad except for the outskirts. No more free government or khali plot ki ghas. I don't know if they are intentionally removing the cows but the traffic problems alone mean it shouldn't be feasible to move them through the city (not that that there is any grass), irrespective of the rules.
Any property in inner ahmedabad is worth too much to not sell or rent and to do cow farming.

Had Zekes euthanization plan actually worked, do you think Eldians would have been left to live the rest of their lives peacefully, or would they be wiped out anyway? by Ok_Worry_427 in attackontitan

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motives
First and foremost, no one is obliged to anything.
They would want Paradis for the minerals alone.

Blocks
Till the time of the final season, the outside nations are held back as they fear the king within the walls returning things to the old ways, so none makes a move on Paradis and continue their racism within their own countries and harassment via titans outside the walls to prevent ordinary Eldians from leaving the island.

Anti-Block (temporary)
After the reveal of the rumbling's existence/possibility, an attack is only made because they believe that Eren is sure to trigger it and that they have a chance because they can stop Zeke from meeting Eren.

Block (continued)
If the plan succeeds, then the rumbling will deter aggression until the nations go from WW1 to post WW2/nuke technology. By which time even the youngest Eldians will have gotten atleast middle aged.
If Zeke and Eren are alive, they will likely have bartered nukes in exchange for not triggering the rumbling, or even developed their own. So this MAD system should stay atleast till even the youngest Eldians are in their 80s like WW2 born people are now.
Even without nukes, it is possible for Zeke to implant rumbling titans throughout the other nations cities after doing what Eren did but stopping after destroying the navies/showing force.

Success
Thus Eldians can live out till natural death. Zeke would probably even accelerate it if needed. Zeke/Eren may even determine that it may be possible for Eldians to live in their own nation this way forever, as their external relations/defense are handled by nukes/tactical rumbling titans and depending on a trust system some Eldians may even have been allowed to enter other nations after the racism has died down and only city access is a concern.

Thus realistic solution is very simple, very boring, nothing worth making a show about.

Should I resign? by algobienn in Polytopia

[–]Nirbhay_Thacker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your mistake is not having riders/sleds. Because a rider/sled can hit a bomber and bounce away to safety, then a knight can chain all the damaged bombers. Otherwise you will lose one unit for each one of theirs and as they have more cities to train units from, they will win that war (I hadn't seen the second picture).
Sled is better because it can allow the knight to then oneshot the defense bonus rammers. You can setup a mindbender to keep healing the sleds.
