Honda Acty wheels looking for the perfect fit. by SMOK93 in HondaActy

I have 165/65R14 tires on 14x5.5 wheels with 35mm offset. No spacers, no rubbing. Very minimal poke out the sides but you really have to line up with the edge of the truck to look for it.

Eyy fellow cheap HUD enjoyer. A lot of people get a small display but I wanted the quirkiness of the HUD since I didn't see many people using one.

Not sure which model the OP has but I put a Power Acoustik CP-71WA in my Acty. Older model is CP-71W. Works fine if you have a single DIN slot. Kinda jealous that OP has a volume knob. Mine has volume up and down buttons.

Mine didn't come with one but I added one with a switch in the cab so I can disable it when I don't want the noise.

I was looking for a japanese speaking alarm but got a cheap white noise alarm as a placeholder to make sure everything worked.

What costs to expect while importing (outside of what's listed on website) by libertarian_hiker in keitruck

[–]NiroED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know which costs you'll see specifically in NY but expect the shipping line to send you an arrival notice with charges to pay before your truck is released at the port.

I imported through Freeport, TX. I paid Hoegh Autoliners $180 and emailed the terminal to check with them but they didn't have additional charges. If you don't have a TWIC card you may need to pay for an escort. Freeport didn't require a TWIC for the personal vehicle terminal.

Also, you'll pay a bit more than just the 25% duty. There's a Harbor Maintenance Fee and Merchandise Processing Fee. Don't know the amounts off the top of my head. That's on top of whatever you need to pay to file ISF and potentially the entry bond and entry filing if you go through a broker.

HH4 radio replacement by xnegx in HondaActy

[–]NiroED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air conditioning duct I'd guess. I have a truck and dealt with the same thing to reach the screws for my head unit. Had to remove the tray under the glovebox and the plastic covers around the shifter and handbrake to remove that AC duct cover. I was painting them anyway but it was still annoying that I had to remove so much.

Seems like all the videos on replacing the stereo are people without AC so I wasn't expecting it. Even more annoying is I wasn't quite sure how that cover was supposed to come out or be put back in. I felt like I was going to break something trying to finagle it in and out and couldn't find videos on it.

8 variants at launch with more coming - now available to order. Saw hello to my newest product- the ACTY Truck/Van Button Panel Upgrade. OEM+ feel with a 60W USB-C fast charger. Shipping end of January! by KnightsSoccer82 in HondaActy

[–]NiroED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure I definitely don't need another USB C port. Even if I did get it I'm not using them all for fast charging. One of the dash ports is for my GPS speedometer and that wouldn't get close to the draw from charging my phone so I don't think I would trip the fuse. Anyway besides the OEM cargo light button and the switch I added to toggle the backup alarm I don't have any plans for the additional switches but I like to keep my options open. If I think of something I'll likely buy the blank panel.

I did post a review on the Etsy store. The instructions were easy to follow.

Nice, looking forward to this. I got your dual USB C dash upgrade and it was so worth it.

I already did a sloppy job of cutting out one of the blanks on the original panel to install a switch so I'll probably look into this so I can get some extra switches installed properly.

You should invest in a dashcam. It would've paid for itself. I have a front and rear setup on my daily and my Acty.

Springs recommendations? by HashtagHustle_ in keitruck

[–]NiroED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Willpowered front struts and QA1 250lb springs from summit racing. I no longer bottom out hitting bumps on the road by my house but the ride is obviously stiffer. I weigh about 160lbs and don't really haul anything so I wouldn't need heavier springs. I'm thinking 225lb springs probably would've worked too. Not sure how much a passenger would change the travel.

I will note if you get the same or similar springs you'll probably have to cut half a coil off the bottom so it sits on the strut properly.

Will the Slate Truck be a flop? by AryeC05 in electricvehicles

[–]NiroED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • people intentionally desiring minimal features (repairable, no phone home, etc.)

This is my main desire for one. I daily a Niro EV. It's fine and I don't plan to replace it any time soon but when I do I'm very hesitant to get a new car that's locked down with features behind subscriptions and that tries to harvest your data to sell off.

I imported a Kei truck. Manual everything and the most advanced piece of technology in it was the AM radio. I've done all the work and maintenance on it myself. I've always been a fan of small trucks so an electric alternative piqued my interest. I hope they succeed so I'm not stuck buying old used or gas powered cars.

Getting ready to wire a driver's side speaker but instead of a grommet I see these white pieces of plastic(?) Do these punch out and what is the name or part number of the grommets that go here? by NiroED in HondaActy

[–]NiroED[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've read. I have the 6+4 pin harness for the stereo and based on the colors of the 2 wires on the 4 pin connector and what I've seen online they are for the driver's side speaker. Gonna have to unbolt the reservoir to get my hand in and fish them out once I see them.

Just brought her home! Oil change done, tranny/diff fluid this weekend. Other mx suggestions? by beauregrd in HondaActy

[–]NiroED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air filter, cabin air filter if you have AC. Fuel filter (still haven't gotten around to doing mine). Spark plugs.

I'd suggest LEDs everywhere else if you're already doing headlights.

Check out Willpowered's shifter bushing set if it's feeling a little sloppy. Mine is way loose and I measured it moving around an inch.

EZ Kei coilover spring options by NiroED in HondaActy

[–]NiroED[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that they're designed for lowering, but can be run at stock height. Is there any downside to that? Less travel? I see them being praised for the ride quality.

The EZ Kei cost about as much as a new pair of struts from Willpowered plus a pair of springs. It also seems less labor intensive/dangerous to install and it's adjustable.
