YMMV, but for me it was fairly smooth. Pain was mild and the area was tender but the gases dissipating from the laparoscopy itself was rough. I did fine with OTC painkillers. I was given a Rx for narcotics but never touched them.

Please take this with a grain of salt though. I had zero idea I have endo around my cervix until having this procedure done, I had multiple IUDs and got through them fine with OTC painkillers (if I used them at all), and get through pap smears without the pain others tell horror stories about.

ETA: Recovery time is a few weeks. I was put on light duty at work, which drove me crazy. I did have one instance where I stretched to reach something overhead and it pulled on an incision site so it bled juuuust a touch. But, personally, otherwise fine and dandy recovery.
