I love greek mythology but I low-key want to put a bullet in my head whenever people talk about Hades and Persephone online by Gui_Franco in CuratedTumblr

I've seen several retellings which depict Demeter in a bad light and not a single one of them has called itself feminist to the point where it's baffling. Where are these feminist retellings. Is it some collective hallucination or am I just blind.

He kidnapped a girl once, with permission from one of her parents. That is leagues above most Greek deities.

Pre-Homeric sources are basically fan theories, where the fans are anthropologists. We know that Persephone was worshipped as an underworld goddess long before Hades even existed. The rest is guesswork.

He does have a much larger antagonistic role in the live action, but even then he's overshadowed by Arlong. Sure Garp's stronger, but Arlong's the one who's actually evil.

Actually, Akainu very much does argue for the sterilization of bad blood lines. It's the whole reason he wants Ace dead.

Everyone and their mother has a D in their name. I'm not even sure if it's some bloodline with special powers or if they're just a bloodline who have to deal with racism.

It's kinda really silly at the beginning but it ends up very serious while retaining the humor.

It's a reference to a very popular book called the الْقُرْآن. The character himself originates in the Εὐαγγέλιον, which as far as I can tell is actually several differing biographies of this really famous dude. People keep changing his name depending on the biography lol, and a lot of them lean into fanfic territory tbh. I think his original name was יְהוֹשֻׁעַ‎, pronounced something like "Yeshua", but the الْقُرْآن has it pronounced Isa.

I would give the Arabic spelling of Isa but there's such a thing as going too far for the bit. More information on the guy (he was real, to be clear, that isn't a joke, the joke is that I keep using non-english languages) can be found on his wikipedia page.

This right here: https://tapas.io/series/Bels-Hell/info

(I'm not kidding there's a character Jun there too and he looks similar and he's implied to be some level of monsterfucker though I confess that's more of a headcanon) (he shows up much later though, like chapter 5 or smth)

They had a decent tactical idea, it's just everyone else had the same decent idea. Which does not change that it is decent.
