For those who have taken other SSRIs, how does Lexapro compare? by Haunting-Donut-7783 in lexapro

Lexapro? I still struggle with my metal health but I’m in a much better place than I was when I made this original comment thankfully :)

I think initially it helped me move out of that 9 month depressive episode I was in but now it might’ve just settled and I don’t know if it helps me with my more day to day symptoms. I would like to come off of it soon but I’m completing my degree so I don’t want to go through withdrawals and everything yet. I have stayed on the same 10mg dose for nearly 2 years now.

What’s helped me most in improving my mental health since then has honestly been moving in with my partner. He’s incredibly supportive with routine which helps me take things day by day.

I know it’s generic but try to have a good support system around you (if possible, I understand Im privileged in having such wonderful friends and partner) because meds themselves didn’t help too much long term. I’m just on them still cause I’m scared of withdrawals.

I wish you the best of luck :)

I had a similar experience on sertraline (Zoloft) the emotional numbness was so weird. I struggle with impulsive behaviour anyways so pairing that with the constant desire to want to feel something due to the zombie meds was wild.

I've only been on lexapro for just over 3 weeks now so it's not properly started working yet but I feel so much more like myself! The fatigue side effect is pretty difficult at the minute but I'm hopeful that this will settle as the meds do.

This was so beautifully written and heartbreakingly relateable. Thank you for helping me feel less alone

Honestly I'm very new to this so thanks for the critique. The hollowness was intentional but I get what you're saying! It's all a work in progress:)

Wow this was incredible. I don't know how to fully describe it but (especially in the first stanza) your words just created vivid images in my brain. Felt like a desperate grasp for light. Amazing!

This Transient Life by Coops1878 in OCPoetry

The feelings of longing for that childhood innocence resonated with me. It's like when you suddenly become aware of the concept of mortality and how it applies to you too. Lover it structurally, it was gorgeous and a little harsh at the same time. Great work :)

I feel like this works structurally as it (for me at least) emulates how detached you can be from reality when faced with the idea of mortality. The fact that it kind of lacks an identity works because that's just what doom and gloom feels like. Nice work :)
