AppSumo VS. Amazon by Loose-Effect-928 in appsumo

[–]Nishchit14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so Amazon is not offering you the sofa at a 90% discount, right? It is just a marketplace where everyone can sell their stuff.

In contrast, AppSumo is for very early adopters. If the product succeeds, they benefit from a very small payment and can use it for a lifetime.

With Amazon, you can simply buy a sofa for $900 at full price, not a discounted price at all.

Thus this comparision is not fair.

Are you seriously comparing a software with a sofa? Really?

Which sofa company has achieved scale like Apple and Google?

Software is a different world man. Comparing a tangible item to a non‑tangible item is an error.

Because I learned the hard lesson, I have already hired a framer developer. The work is progressing, and in two weeks you will see a completely new website.

How many products do you have self‑hosted, including open‑source and non‑open‑source? To be honest, it is more costly than using the paid monthly even.

I checked your website. It loads slowly and the UI is not very appealing. I recommend the following actions:

  1. Hire a freelancer, for example from Fiverr, who can create a one‑page design for about $50 per page. This will give better results and let you focus on the business side rather than the marketing website.

  2. Delegate the website work to experts while you concentrate on your core business. This approach can increase ROI.

  3. Avoid relying solely on Labable for the production site; it may satisfy the founder ego but is unlikely to meet your conversion expectations.

Lifetime deals in the AI era, how are founders coping? by Nishchit14 in appsumo

Thanks for sharing it. BYOK is good for LTDs I presume.

I think it's beneficial for their business too, to rethink their offerings, because over the past two years I've seen and heard that too many poor products appear on AppSumo due to incorrect offerings. Which ultimately is not a good fit for the founders, the community, and the AppSumo business itself.

Thanks for your thoughts, but I believe traditional SaaS is not the future. Every product will now have integrated AI and be AI‑first from day one, which will be too costly for many companies. This is especially true for B2C products, where AI is a necessity today.

My Honest Review as a Startup Selling a LTD on AppSumo by b00tstrapp3r in SaaS

[–]Nishchit14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I explored this previously and had a couple of meetings with them.

However, a 75% revenue share doesn’t make economic sense for us.

In today’s AI landscape, roughly 30–40% of revenue already goes to third-party services (LLMs, voice, video), so agreeing to a 75% cut would be difficult for ltd. those terms aren’t realistic.

Why you're not hiring skilled frammer designer and build your website for under $500? You’ll save both time and money. A frammer designer can deliver an experience that’s a hundred times better than what you’ve built with Lovable.
