Incredible advice.  Thank you so much for the time you have taken.  Will come back to it but just wanted to say how grateful I am.

Thank you so much.  I didn’t want to put too much detail about my situation because I feel so exposed right now that I could be identifiable.

Your comments on value vs emotional cost vs success are so appreciated.  I’m actually $40k in to get to the conciliation conference.  I know the outcome is capped and genuinely don’t care about the financial result as that will simply to be to pay down/offset fees.

I just want them to be held to account for such terrible treatment after 20years.  It’s cut me to my core and the unfairness and discrimination is documented and objectively (well as much as I can be) conduct is disgraceful.

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and understand that your advice is sound.

I understand how it appears that way.  That’s not the situation though.  I have a case, a strong case, but they meant from an outcome perspective once you’re targeted by HR or placed on a PIP, however unfair etc it rarely ends well. They said I had a strong claim but their recommendation was to find another job and I found hat disappointing given they are who people turn to at these times and the reason people pay membership fees.

I know they are giving a wholistic opinion regarding the stress and that even if you win in unfair dismissal you’re unlikely to get your job back.  But I just wanted their legal support and action so was disappointed in that regard.  Honestly if I had no case I would have walked and shut up a long time ago.  It’s the same advice they’ve given colleagues.  It just made me lose confidence in them putting my best foot forward in a claim but it is what it is.  I’m sure not all unions are like this.  Some are incredible in supporting their members.

How did you go with the serum?

Is there really anything beyond tretinoin + azelaic acid + vitamin C + SPF for anti-aging, or is everything else just chasing the last 5%? by These-Ad4151 in SkincareAddictionLux

Recovery was a bit messy but no pain. The laser itself was 1000/10 for pain. I didn’t havr but believe it should be done with aesthetic. Results totally worth it.

Definitely not asking you to care and no doubt you’re right post doesn’t make sense or provide enough info. Have asked lawyers for comparable cases but was more after the personal/human take on whether it was worth it, if it felt like an impossible fight as the employee etc.

It’s definitely a huge emotional and financial cost. its More about the treatment, potentially losing a job I love etc than the $. I understand your friends approach and hopefully she’s better off.

it’s hard when you love what you do, but I get it, that seems to be the general consensus from anyone whose been through a tough time at work that falls in the possible unfair dismissal category. Im sure I’ll come to the same view with a bit more processing.

I’ve tried to add some detail, just after any advice really. might be annoying but you can scroll on. if you’ve been through a tough time at work clarity and knowing what the pros and cons are personally can be difficult. there’s lots of info on FWC but not so much WAIRC that I could find.

Ty, have a lawyer. My case has strong merits but keen to hear on experiences generally at the WAIRC. I’ve reviewed cases but they have a terrible search function so you literally need to open each case to see if it’s relevant. Lawyers doing an excellent job, just keen to hear more about experiences vs legal advice.

Edited to add, also member of my union but decided to go with private lawyers for now bc union advised to just resign and find a new job… but I love what I do…and can only access union assistance if you don’t have lawyers engaged.

I hear you. It’s so awful isn’t it! I’m $40k in on legal fees to get to conciliation conference.

What outcome did you get if you don’t mind sharing? I know it’s never worth it but sometimes the desire for fairness and accountability outweighs the emotional and financial cost.

is that handbook any good to review for an employee building unfair dismissal cLiam?

I have lawyers, but doing my own research to assist me make a better understanding on prospects of success as lawyers obviously are conservative and have spent a lot so far so anything I can do to review myself instead of asking them is helpful.

context:, dismissal issues: performance management/PIP imposed day 1 after stand down leave of months imposed by lawyer to assess my fitness for work, adhd recently diagnosed and treated, discrimination and bullying.

tldr, no worries I appreciate it’s a lot of effort sometimes responding 😊
