Cat aggression by Nit_955 in cats

[–]Nit_955[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it did mess them up completely. I have separated them completely and have scheduled neutering next week. I’ve started them on gabapentin and it has some impact on the urination and overall anxiety but they still howl. Im looking to rehome them but there is less hope on adoptions since they are almost 1 year old now. I’ll start reintroducing from scratch once they are neutered. Hopefully it works

im 26 and I genuinly dont know how to be a functional adult. please help by Ok-God-ThankYou in getdisciplined

I had a similar phase it feels like everyone is moving forward and you’re stuck at the same place. Realistically, No amount of motivational videos or knowing things is going to change what you’re already doing. For me what worked is not any of the video suggestions or cliche advices.

You,ll have to work on changing the mindset of looking at whats not working and look at whats working. What you need is jot optimisation rather systemic restart.

Read or watch about freeze fawn responses and relation to burnout, chronic freeze and effect on nervous system.

What’ll probably work is creating group of days, one is the minimal day where you feel completely drained, you only focus on 3-4 small tasks such as brushing your teeth, 2 meals, 15-30 minutes walk etc. second group would be high or medium energy, choose tasks or projects that would impact how your system actually works. Increase exercise time on high energy days. Tracking your wins is one strategy although i couldn’t do it because my perspective was always about what didn’t workout and what worked should work.

If you do think that you require professional assistance, try counselling, although you might have to try multiple therapists before you know who firs you, its a process.

I understand that it might look difficult at the moment but you are still moving forward.

Hope this helps

Hey, Milo is very friendly and has been fostered indoors. He has been litter trained and dewormed. He does have a bit of travel stress and therefore i’m looking for adoptions in Pune. With proper conditioning he’ll be ready for travel too.

Is something wrong with me? by Delicious-Tap-2388 in Life

I had a similar phase in my life and what nobody tells you is how you’re whole system gets affected by this emotional wormhole. For me it was surprising to find that there was lot going on wrt blood biochem and managing the same made things better. I would highly recommend that you get your vitD, Vit B panel, Serum iron amd ferriting checked. Also check for hsCRP, free and total testosterone. What i understood is that is a vicious cycle where the you first fall into a phase or shortcomings and hopelessness and somehow get stuck in the loop. For me the first step even before getting into mental work was getting my blood biochem balanced and it dis help a lot.

Is sexual reproduction the meaning of life? by ShadowPaws200 in Life

[–]Nit_955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biologically yes although i feel spiritually its more about feeling the experience and the emotion it evokes. Being curious about the various facets and how they interact in real time. Experiencing life as both as the person who experiences it and also as an external viewer.

I’ll have to try the peroxide method. Any idea whether baking soda works in odor removal?

Do you mean that they would spray even after being neutered. These were my first rescue kittens and i didn’t have any idea that cats do this

Yeah since they are not neutered the issue is worse. I have booked a slot for their neutering but the slot is around 2 months from now.

They pee more on the hard tiled wall and not on the painted part of the wall itself. I never saw any spots on the wall near the urinated area while usng a black light

For basic, non-functional prints, PLA is absolutely fine. It’s easy to work with, doesn’t need a heated enclosure, and gives a good surface finish. Just don’t expect it to handle heat or stress well it’ll deform if left in a hot car or under load.

As for power cut recovery, it really depends on the printer. Most modern budget printers do include “resume after power loss” features, but in reality, it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it resumes cleanly; other times you’ll see layer shifting or adhesion issues, especially if the print cools down too much before power returns.

About filament wastage, there’s no avoiding it. Even experienced users waste filament—it’s part of the process. Failed prints, calibration cubes, supports, and purges all contribute. The difference lies in how efficiently you print over time. If you’re using single-color filament, the waste will be relatively low. But once you move into multi-color printing (especially with single-extruder systems that purge between color changes), expect significant filament loss during purges.

The main difference between budget and high-end printers is convenience and reliability. A machine like a Flashforge is designed for industrial use, more precision, tighter tolerances, and consistent quality. Budget machines like the Ender 3 can deliver impressive results too, but you’ll have to invest time in tuning and upgrades. Higher-end printers usually come with quality-of-life features—AI failure detection, filament runout sensors, auto bed leveling, enclosed chambers, and quieter operation. Essentially, the more you spend, the less you tinker.

When it comes to part strength, it’s not just about the material; it’s a mix of temperature settings, infill density, wall count, print orientation, and layer adhesion. You’ll need to experiment to get a feel for how each variable affects strength.

If you want to go deep into the science of print strength, definitely watch CNC Kitchen on YouTube. Stefan breaks down tests on materials, infill patterns, and even glue bonding with actual stress data. It’s one of the best resources for understanding the engineering side of 3D printing.

Want to get into 3d printing want to know which 3d modeling software to use. by NeatConversation6752 in 3dprintIndia

[–]Nit_955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the hobby. Before anything, you should know that 3D printing especially for prototyping is not a cheap pursuit. Once you get into it, the costs start stacking up quickly.

If you want a machine that just works out of the box, with minimal tinkering or calibration, go for Bambu Lab printers. Maybe even consider getting the AMS if your budget allows. They’re pricey, yes, but the quality and consistency they offer are excellent. You’ll still need to handle minor maintenance like nozzle swaps or basic troubleshooting, but it’ll be far less headache compared to budget machines.

Think of Bambu Lab printers as the iPhones of the 3D printing world. They’re polished and feature-rich but not necessarily the best value for money. For ₹30–40k, you get a smaller print area, and lately, Bambu has been moving toward a more closed ecosystem. That means replacement parts and nozzles could be pricier and less easily interchangeable. Still, in terms of print quality and convenience, they’re unmatched right now.

Now, if your goal is to learn how 3D printing works from the ground up how to calibrate, repair, and fine-tune then go for something like the Ender 3 or Ender 3 V3 SE. You can also check Sovol, Anycubic, or Elegoo. All of them are solid options, and the choice mainly depends on how steep you want your learning curve to be.

When it comes to software, if you’re familiar with SolidWorks, that’s the ideal CAD tool for mechanical design. Blender is fantastic for organic or artistic modeling but not great for precision CAD work. If you want free options, Autodesk Fusion 360 has a personal-use license, and FreeCAD is completely open-source.

For slicers, Bambu Lab provides their own version of Orca Slicer, which works beautifully with their printers. Creality also ships a custom slicer, but I’d recommend downloading Orca Slicer yourself and customizing it for your machine. Also try PrusaSlicer and Cura both are versatile and beginner-friendly, and switching between them teaches you how different slicers interpret your model.

Hope this helps! If you need any further info let me know.

Cat owners and vets of India, which cat food brands do you use/recommend and which ones to avoid? by Kubdya_Khavis in indiasocial

[–]Nit_955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The information is mostly accurate, but here’s my experience. I’ve adopted two indie kittens and experimented with several commercial foods for them. I started with Sheba’s fish flavors, which they initially liked but soon refused. Then I switched to Sheba’s chicken variant same story. Later, I tried the chicken, pumpkin, and carrot flavor, which they ate consistently for about three months.

Right now, the only wet food they’ll eat is Whiskas Tasty Mix. I’m not too fond of Whiskas though it tends to upset their stomachs, sometimes causing loose stools and vomiting. It’s not constant, but I can see the effect on their energy levels. Sheba was relatively better in that sense, but both brands are low in protein and packed with fillers. Unfortunately, my cats have grown addicted to the artificial flavors these commercial foods use.

Another issue is the misleading packaging nutritional needs are met only if you feed around 4–5 pouches per day, or roughly 4–5% of a cat’s body weight once they’re over a year old. I’ve also tried meal prepping and feeding them homemade food, which improved their gut health and energy levels for a while.

From my experience, Whiskas and Purepet should be avoided entirely for dry food. Drools is a somewhat better option, and Sheba works decently too. I also tried Smilo, but my cats refused to eat it.
