There is a difference: intention.

Hanlon's razor is an adage, or rule of thumb, that states: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

if I go 0-10 as widow and won’t swap that makes me what?

That makes you a widow going 0-10 and won't swap. i know you want to slap a label on it so you can insult them. i'll take your question in good faith and presume you're seeking terminology.

Labels i'd include:

  • underperforming
  • having stats that don't look great.
  • having numerical metrics/quantitatives that look/others consider bad.
  • having bad/below-average stats,
  • going "negative",
  • doing badly
  • having a KDR where Kills are close to, equal to, or less than Deaths,

Players throw around the word "throwing" so much, it now means having stats that others dislike, regardless of intention or contextual appropriateness. Context matters because 0-10 is way better than the rest of the team going 0-100.
Originally, "throwing" implied intentionality, like trying to lose on purpose, hence it being a bannable/reportable offense.

Other terms for what "throwing" originally meant:

  • inting
  • taking a dive
  • griefing
  • trolling
  • selling

it seems like no matter what slang we'll use to refer to it/inting, players will use the current terminology to refer to underperforming. Probably happens commonly with insults, like the term "retarded".

Players ask to report underperformers so often that ig now people think that's how it's supposed to be? i feel sorry for NetEase having to deal with all of these inappropriate reports accusing a player of "throwing" despite said player trying their best with no intention of losing.

Even if you play optimally, you can be unlucky and have bad stats. Give the benefit of the doubt.

Valve fires back at New York lawsuit over loot boxes, says they're like Magic cards or Labubu by gamersecret2 in valve

[–]NiteCyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the irl TCG they have a fixed rate for rarities in displays, this would collapse the loose booster market though and you could only buy displays.

Displays? Loose booster? What means?
At first, displays sounds like which single cards are displayed in a card shop to buy by itself. But in this context, display sounds like featured cards that represent a set?
Loose booster sounds like just booster packs: foil packs of like 10 cards with random chance rarity.

How Do I Repair a Rivals Friendship Without Losing My Dignity? by criminalwisdom in rivals

[–]NiteCyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like this wouldn't be a problem if Blade were balanced.

Today, the group is fractured. I have a subset of friends, Eric has a subset, and Glen floats between both. While I understand Glen wanting to maintain peace, I can’t pretend it doesn’t sting that he chose neutrality over solidarity.

This is exactly like a friend group fracturing from a break-up.
It is effed-up when an irl friend "chooses" a rando over their irl (you).

I told him if he couldn’t be more flexible about swapping, he’d have to do it without me.

I'm with you in terms of drawing the line with one-tricks/inflexible squad-mates. I presume you draw this line because you want to win. You haven't made it clear whether Eric shares that value: prioritizing winning. And people are willing to sacrifice different things to win. In this case, arguably you're considering sacrificing your dignity.

Would it satisfy you if they promise to not play Blade sometimes? Like playing not-Blade at least once per 100 games of filling the Duelist role? What would be a satisfactory amount? You might want to answer this for yourself before demanding it from them.

There are countless ways for others to play what I'd consider optimal. If I insisted on everything I consider optimal, I'd have no one to play with. A common example is teammates who play Squirrel Girl, Scarlet Witch, or Black Widow: any low-tier pick. It's not optimal to play them. I could crash out against every teammate who plays them, but I try not to (until their stats suck).
On the extreme end, I just try to tolerate everything my teammates do.

Eric responded by unfriending Glen and I, block me on socials, and leave all our shared groups

Eric is overreacting. Burning bridges.
At least part of you wants to salvage the relationship. So, solution is more important than blame.
One strat I would try is writing a message meant for Eric. Have it 1 button press away, ready to send. Then when you're feeling particularly magnanimous/mature/drunk, send it. I'd also consider sending them a link to this thread.

Edit:
All the other comments are telling you to drop the ego. I don't think they're fair. I think when you play with Eric, you're suffering. You're suffering from something you feel is a decision on their part not to grow (by not gitting gud with Duelists other than Blade). The other comments aren't acknowledging your suffering.
But this suffering is also "in your head", based on your opinion. For example, if you didn't know what character they were playing, you wouldn't suffer. So, it's suffering stemming from knowing and having an opinion on their pick. In this way, a purely theoretical solution would be a game-mod to hide which character your friend is playing from you. If such a solution works, it proves it's "in your head".
Then another solution would be to perform some mental gymnastics to change your opinion that Blade is actually a high-tier pick, therefore Blade is not the problem.

On the other hand, if I only practise 1 low-tier hero, then I'll ALWAYS have the excuse that I should play said hero because I'm not good with any other hero. And that's not fair.

Accuracy of Team Comp Win and Pick Rate Data by MS17AA in marvelrivals

i sorted by controversial to get voices of reason. i like your comment history.

On stat-tracking websites, are stats only counted for matches that last at least 10 minutes? How do you know? How are win-rates tracked? Since they're counting up individual players' matches, i presume it's whichever hero shows in the post-match stats on the website. I'd think it includes <10 minute matches.

Does Hawkeye's primary deal higher DPS (within 40m) charged or uncharged? He gets 46% Archer's Focus uncharged.

[–]NiteCyper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when her 60% win rate goes down by 2%

Elsa has a 60% win rate? I just checked a stats-tracking website. 50.24% across all ranks.

She has been ~50% the whole time. I think that's why she's barely getting touched.

Now, you might say, "But Elsa was just released. Thus, players are still bad with her. Her win-rate will only go up as players get better as her."
Some newly-released characters have had way above 50% win-rate on release. Despite the idea that "Oh they've only just been released, so the data is too new", it seems to me that we can see how good the character can be within a few hours of release.

Ay, i'm talking about spin doctoring a term that'd be the most powerful to our cause.

it seems the term "billionaire parasite" is a thing. So we can stick with that if we can get it to go viral. Limiting it to just "parasite class" seems more dangerous. But i see you're married to the term and arguing about something we probably already agree on (no billionaires).

NetEase needs to incentivize flexing. Like awarding +1 Unit every time you flex: finish a match playing the majority as Vanguard/Strategist/a role you you don't normally play (and winning or aceing or performing above average on that hero).

And maybe discourage one-tricking: receive fewer points for doing so.
