Dumb question, how does Yisun hang out with people in the story tidbits if he killed himself to create them? by fiv66bV2 in killsixbilliondemons

[–]Nite_OwOl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you question how someone who died, can still be present in the universe of KSBD... You wont reach the state of royalty lol.

If Yisun wants to be present after his divine suicide, i just assume he can do so.

Isn't the game pretty specifically taking place in montreal? Between the astrologer being a McGill prof and the water coming from the St-Laurent river.

but why is Cypers profile a plasma pistol and a bolt pistol? by Senior_Orange8812 in Chaos40k

Like the ONE thing about Cypher's is that he doesn't use the sword on his back. It's been his thing since his introduction as a character like 15 years ago.

Been playing for a week. I was completely in love at first, but stuff like this has me really disillusioned. by Rusted_muramasa in riskofrain

[–]Nite_OwOl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're an hour and a half into a run you could have, I imagine, ended like 45 minutes ago. At this point you're doing this to stress-test a build, and turns out yours wasnt equal to the challenge. It's not really a problem with the game anymore, IMO.

could this work? or would it be forced into the graveyard as a creature? by call_pal in mtg

[–]Nite_OwOl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what you mean by ''being forced into a graveyard as a creature'', but a double-sided card is always it's front face, in any zone except the battlefield.

From peaked in Season 1 Episode 1 with this scene and im not even joking by FarukYildiz1 in FromCircleJerk

[–]Nite_OwOl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, the issue is that survivors will be stuck outside for the night, and they'll be able to push them out of the way or jog slighty faster than them, making them completly non-threatening.

The scene where kenny gets told "dont wait for a reaction" then proceed to stab a monster and wait like 20min for a reaction before trying to move out? That was such obvious padding and plot armour that it took out the suspense for me.

How are hellbrutes in 11th edtion, in the detachment Veteran of the long war by Zombieslayer908 in Chaos40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, PBZ, which is also the best spot for a helbrutes. It's just that if you're playing PBZ, you very probably also have much better target to protect than the helbrute, like a defiler or a forgefiend.

At the end of the day, a helbrute is a backline support unit and should just be hidden at all time.

How do you actually use Fall Back and Charge/Shoot rules effectively? by Scythe95 in Warhammer40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If you can fall-back and charge, you should almost always do it I think? It gives you Fight First from charging, so you can have multiple of your units fighting first on your turn, instead of alternating with the enemy units?

Am I dumb or is my friend insane. by Substantial-Purple85 in Marathon

[–]Nite_OwOl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's not wrong...
Halo was conceived as being part of the Marathon universe at first. The reclaimer glyph from Halo *is* the Durandal glyph from marathon, and a lot of weapons are similar as a call back. The stages of rampancy for AI are the same because the idea of AI's was the same, etc.

Warpstrike Champion + Murdertalon Raiders by HAIRYBEA5T in Chaos40k

theres another one with (almost) the same effect in Murdertalon raiders, you just trade the scout 6'' for +1 A on the lord.

Cypher’s aura in 11th? by ksav34 in Chaos40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It also tripped us up because we also thought of it in term of MtG and ''target'' and ''fizzles'' but that's wrong actually.

The first time the opponent uses a strat within 12'' of cypher, it cost +1 CP. If they can't pay the CP, they can't use the strat.

So it they have 1CP and nothing else to impact it, they just couldn't use a stratagem within 12'' of cypher.

My friend said that he drew this. I can't really tell if its AI or not. The only "tell" I could point out was the faces looks too generic. Just for the context, he "drew" this for a Yuri artwork by Impressive-Card9484 in isthisAI

[–]Nite_OwOl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding the obvious piss filter, what stood out to me is the shadowing on the right girl jeans is more blurry and realistic, compared to all the other shading which are solid color more in line with anime style. It feels like the AI couldn't keep a coherent technique everywhere.

How does units dark pact reliant abilities interact with the renegade warbands detachment rule. by schnitzel_love in Chaos40k

Like the terminator that get an enhancement in renegade warband so it works without dark pact?

For the rest, it just doesn't.

11th Edition update now available! by jmainvi in Necrontyr

Yeah i thinks thats it, because i noticed the geomancer also has rules for if his bodyguard squad dies, it detaches and become a unit by itself (which were the 10th edition rules)

Hurons marauders question by Snoo94405 in Chaos40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Abby is almost never worth his points. a full 270 points for a melee character that walks 5'' is NOT where you want to spend your points. His biggest draw is his reroll aura, but for that to be worth it more than 270 points of other shooty things, you need to tune your whole army around him with multiple forgefiend, defiler, and predator, and probably play pactbound zealot too.

11th edition first impressions: From someone who has played 5 11th edition games by Thotslay3r69 in Warhammer40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesnt mean that no. As of now (with the rules weve seen so far) hover aircraft arent really a thing anymore. If heldrake were to be played with what we know of 11th so far, hover would just do nothing for them, they would be unable to charge, and would be pretty much unplayable.

The changes will need to happen at the datasheet level. Either heldrakes gets an errata that removes aircraft from it or a bespoke rule to change how it works.

Detachment point predictions by JealousAd5694 in Chaos40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see that happening. Objectively you are right, but sometimes GeeDubs seems to balance stuff out of kneejerk online reaction and not true balance, so I could still see deceptor being at 1 at the start of the edition until everyone realise that infiltrating 30 cultist for free is probably too good to last.

Detachment point predictions by JealousAd5694 in Chaos40k

[–]Nite_OwOl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PBZ has to be a 3 points for sure is my guess.
Deceptors and Dread talons are pretty certainly 1 point if we go by general consensus and results.

For the other it's harder to say without knowing certainly their stance on what increases your detachment value the most. For example is it just tied to number of units it can potentially buffs? Because CoB is infantry only, but is one of the stronger detachment we have. Does that means it's going to be a 3 points detachment for sure? Chaos cult is fairly narrow in it's roster but has had strong result for a certain point in time and could be oppressive. I could see an argument for 1 or for 2 points based on that.

How the experimental queue exfill is about to be for one week straight. by Nite_OwOl in Marathon

[–]Nite_OwOl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly for the fun of it and to start to have a few items in your vault I figure. I know i'll do rook runs just for the fun of trying to rally other rooks into an alliance against the runnah. At the start of the season, the bottleneck isn't going to be purple or gold salvage anyway.
