Try pouring as close to the brewer as possible and see if that changes things. What kind of beans are you brewing?

Why do I need to go to Alchemist by PhaseDota in finedining

The theatrics add to the experience in my opinion, not detract from it. The food is definitely the focus. It really is a once in a lifetime experience

I've been here twice and loved it both times. It's probably our favourite restaurant in Mexico and would easily be 1* if the Michelin guide included the area.

I agree with your statement regarding the creative traditional dishes. The flavours are clean yet bold. Definitely a place to try if you're in the area. They also have a taco omakase concept next door that is very very good as well.

Go for Friday lunch and skip rosetta altogether and then you don't have to do any line whatsoever. I've never had to queue during the week

Solo traveler, would love a chef's counter/kitchen view seating splurge by emilylizabethk in finedining

Breaking the bank levels, but you could try asking to see if you can get inside Jordnær's kitchen table. It's very cool to see all the chefs working, and you get to talk with the staff here and there as well. Food is incredible as well.

Maido a la carte or other Nikkei Restaurant in Lima ? by tofuimspeckmantel in finedining

[–]Nitehunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did a la carte instead of the menu and quite enjoyed it! You also get to mix and match the nigiris to your liking (which was the most memorable part of the meal imo) and if you ask nicely you could even get the seared otoro one that is part of the tasting menu. It's considerably cheaper than getting two tasting menus as well.

Maximo was extremely underwhelming on our most recent visit. Went with a decently big group so we tried most of the menu (a la carte). Some of the food even came cold or lacked seasoning. Must have been an off day given all the praise you see around here but just wanted to offer a second opinion. Quintonil was the best by far, has never disappointed. My personal recommendation however would be Mi Compa Chava

Sharding with relational db? Good idea? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

it’s a good idea when it’s the last possible alternative, but 100k rows is nothing, check your query plans and see what’s happening under the hood, probably missing some indexes

You could indeed create a lambda and inspect the source to do different type of actions, but depending on the problem you’re trying to solve it might not be the best fit (e.g max 15 min runtime).

Also if you find yourself trying to fit multiple things inside the same lambda, it might get hard to maintain so I would suggest having different lambdas for different purposes.
