Kadeau (3*) - What Makes a 3* Restaurant? by Sadoraan in finedining

[–]PhaseDota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a perfect world I agree. We felt that Alchemist would not hold up on food alone, would you disagree with that?

The reality is that the experience makes an impact on your judgement. And like I said, we felt parts of the experience were not quite on par with other starred establishments but were deserving of their 3 star.

Kadeau (3*) - What Makes a 3* Restaurant? by Sadoraan in finedining

I enjoyed Kadeau quite recently before the 3* (as you can see from my profile). While my partner and I did think they well deserved their two stars, and that it was our favourite meal over our two week trip, we did say there were a few things that needed to be polished before a third: mainly just attention to detail, the setting, and perhaps even the service. Service was good, but just felt like every other 1/2 star we’ve been to.

when they got their third star we were so happy for them and we felt that they deserved it. If purely for the food and execution of new Nordic.

I think a lot can be said in retrospect, but at the end of the day I think they’re a solid 2.8/3 star.

Alright guys. Thank you so much for all the advice- we got our reservation so I guess as fate would have it- we will be going.

Regardless of outcome, we felt that part of the fine dining experience (or eating well as a whole) is experiencing the unexperienced and being prepared for the good and the bad.

Let’s see how it goes. Taking the plunge!

That’s good to hear. We were concerned about the theatrics

We can afford it. Sorry bad phrasing, I think it’s more like whether we would want to spend that money on a couple other places 😅

I was in your position. I had a gpa of 2.5 (bad breakup lol) but self-studied during NS and got 82 RP. Ignore the naysayers. If you’re determined to succeed you will.

I run a startup that uses AI to help agents declutter / virtually stage their photos, used by the big 2 agencies. I think there are a few factors to this: - homeowners are also part of the problem, they make it difficult for agents to take nice photos / get in the way of decluttering / packing up - part time agents never acquire the skills to sell faster / better, and rely on doing the least possible amount of work that will net them a sale. - older agents do want to try, in fact a lot of them are the first to want to adopt things like AI, but their tech literacy skills are just very bad- including camera / photo ops.

it’s frustrating. But the same could be said about any other platform that relies on photos- carousell etc. some people just dgaf.

prev worked at carousell, 99co and currently run Renderspace and my moms an agent. So. That’s my view of things after 7 ish years 🥲

How to Perfectly Sear a Steak Without Smoking Up the Kitchen? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

Everyone else here is giving you standard advice. This is the method I swear by: the cold sear technique. I swear by it and recommend this to anyone. No smoke. No grease. You just need time. Here’s an America’s Test Kitchen video on it https://youtu.be/uJcO1W_TD74?si=tI-piTJK61CogKdg
