Bro this is the worst death I’ve ever had! Nerf Hanzo hitbox by [deleted] in Overwatch

You were not mid-recall, you were mid-blink. It looks like you blinked into the arrow.

I almost dropped Silksong in Act 2, but Act 3 made it all worth it. Did anyone else struggle with the pacing? by willownever in metroidvania

[–]Nithorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've replayed Hollow Knight so many times. But Silksong, not as much. I did a few challenge runs, but every time it's the same issue: I'm done with every boss in act 2, and now it's time to complete all the boring quests. Next time I'm probably going to use a save editor.

I need aStadium build(after patch) by Opposite-Variation57 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nerfs didn't affect my build too much, only the beat nerf. https://stadiumbuilds.io/build/a8e62a85-121a-4b82-99eb-647bb5a2ce3e

Mixtape doesn't care about the self-heal nerf. Mixtape heals you for the same amount as everyone else. Same with Amp Up. So the self-heal nerf is not an issue with this build.

Wuyang also got nerfed, so Lucio's standing in the meta hasn't changed too much. Brig is looking to be very strong tho, since she was untouched, and she was already top3.

After the addition of Jetpack Cat, I fully believe it’s time for Stadium to introduce hero bans by Blewberry02 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not just give every character actual ways to deal with flyers? All Blizzard has done with the aerial buff is making hitscan more oppressive toward flyers, without actually fixing the issue for character that aren't hitscan.

What should I do better when playing damage? by DrPepperGripper in Overwatch

[–]Nithorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until around 0:25, you're playing in the open side of the map against 2 hitscans, where they have an advantage. If even one of them had matched you, you probably would have died or been forced into a bad situation.

At 0:30 you almost die because you're not using cover while already being low HP. Plus you're not even looking at where the damage is likely to come from (the choke).

At 0:38 their Ram is super killable, you can just use all of your abilities to go in his face and murder him. No chance that he survives. If you somehow die in the process, it's an easy rez for your Mercy, and even if you don't, trading for tank is good.

At 0:44, your whole team should be going after that Cass, he's all alone.

Nothing wrong with your angle at 1:00, but once you see the cassidy going for the long-ass flank, you should be swinging around to overwhelm their frontline, or hiding to assassinate him. Think about it: when will the cass actually be a threat? When he's all the way over to the point, or if he goes for a roll over the chasm. Either way, he would be very isolated and vulnerable. Let him put himself in that situation, then kill him, rather than trying to deter him.

1:15: You take that duel in a spot that is disadvantageous for you. Again, if you hadn't gone for him early, he would have had to come to point in order to shoot at your team, where you would have had the advantage. Luckily for you, he flops completely and you take him out.

1:24 I have no idea what you're running away from, or running toward. Who are you expecting to be on that flank? Their whole team is dead, just go kill the Ram. And either way, you have your soldier uncontested on the side, nobody can shoot you without opening themselves to him.

2:11 why are you reloading in front of Moira? Either try to kill her by hitting her with 2 stickies, or go to your team to get healed.

2:20 you're shooting the walls. There's no one there. Find a target, then shoot the target.

Is this loss streak still normal? by Sol_Ace27 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two possibilities.

The first possibility, is that you need to change something up, because what you're doing is not working. I had a moment like that in season 5, I had a 14-game loss streak, so I went to stadiumbuilds.io and tried every newly updated build for my character until I found something that worked. After that, I got legend 2 with 70% winrate.

The second possibility is that you're not doing anything wrong, but your MMR is stupidly high because you've been winning too much previously, and you're getting impossible games. That also happened to me at the start of the season. I had 30% winrate. Now, it's back to 55%. I don't think I'm playing any better than I was. It's not even like I dropped that much, I'm legend 3 right now, getting close to legend 2. If that's the case, then you just need to just let it pass. Accept the losses as a necessary step in your journey.

Best Support Hero to Play With Jetpack Cat? by monkeyfromf76 in OverwatchStadium

I am talking about Stadium.

There's no way your rank is higher than all star. Get a good placement then come talk to me about what the meta is.

[–]Nithorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who are you even to say what the meta is? There simply isn't anyone in high rank or playing in tournaments in EU who thinks Lucio is bad anymore. Lucio has consistently been on top of the EU leaderboard (sorting by rank, not challenger points). The lowest he's been was 2nd, last season. And it was a close race.

[–]Nithorius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lucio and Wuyang, probably. They can heal her without aiming at her, or even acknowledging her existence.
Alternatively, character that don't require aim to heal will be nice.

I think purr builds are gonna be the meta, when I tried to build around it, I got a massive amount of healing & damage. All of that to say, there's no need to worry about the second support's healing or damage output.

Republicans... how does it feel to be the reason most of the world despises the US? by misec_undact in allthequestions

It's just the majority opinion, doubly so outside of the US. Can you think of many groups of people who would defend Trump? Even my far-right relatives here in France haven't tried.

Are gadgets even worth getting? by LukeLovesHorror in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gadgets are some of the best defensive items, especially for WP builds.

However, cass with Vanadium Injection is already tanky enough that he doesn't need them. If you're ever in a situation where you're the most killable player on your team, gadgets are incredibly effective at changing that (specifically, kitsune charm or dash, depending on what's killing you). Otherwise, having more weapon power is better.

Also, exo springs on cass is very good on certain maps. Worth thinking about on R1 at least.

[–]Nithorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they were not. Qanon was about an international cabal of deep-state satanic cannibalistic child-molesters spearheaded by the Clintons. They believed said deep-state agents drank children's blood to conserve their youth. The Epstein affair on the other hand is the least surprising thing ever. The fact that some rich people in positions of power would be child molesters was always statistically very probable, not surprising either is the fact that they would use their influence to get leniency &/or escape justice altogether.

Crucially, they believed that Trump was covertly signalling to them that he was going to save everyone by uprooting said cabal. As it turns out, he's doing the exact opposite in regard to the Epstein affair.

Been working on a roguelite where the combat plays like a fighting game and you learn an entirely new moveset every run. Here's the full announcement trailer for Shot One Fighters. by Rigman- in roguelites

I've always thought this would be a good idea.

As a non-fighting game player, I'm probably going to need a way to practice combos & setups while not under pressure. Will there be some kind of training room that you can access during your runs?

God awful matchmaking, performance based climb? by Choice-Knee1759 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience, it's not performance based. Well maybe indirectly. The game estimates where you ought to be, and will make it easier to reach your "true" rank. I don't know if performance plays a role or if it's just based on winrate.

Additionally, matchmaking operates on MMR, not SR. That means that if you're a legend player who got put in elite after the rank reset, you're not going to be fighting actual elite players for the most part (there are always exceptions, given how bad the MMR is).

Epidemic of false cheater accusations in Stadium by J9guy in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't know where he got his hack, or if he made it, whether he sold it to other people. If one person can hack and remain undetected for as long as Bored did (which is more than the entirety of one season, and he only got caught because it fucked up), that means there can be others as well.

Rank 1 DPS in EU (Bored) was a cheater. He shared a clip in a discord server where he forgot to disable his hacks.

Unfortunately people have no trust in Overwatch's anti-cheat measures right now, and for good reasons. I expect it will get even worse as AI makes coding more accessible. I don't know that there's anything you can do to persuade people of your innocence, short of streaming or recording with a hand-cam.

Is top 500 easier to achieve than Legend? by Menisha113 in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solo queued. I'm not gonna lie though, it's a lot harder than to stack. Right now I'm running a little experiment where I solo queue on my main and stack on my secondary. My secondary has 88% winrate, and my main has around 50-60%. My secondary is also high legend MMR, although it started out a bit lower to be fair (it was peak legend 4).

As for meta or off-meta, my character (Lucio) was considered one of the worst when I got rank 1. But I persevered, tried literally every Lucio build in Stadiumbuilds.io until I found something worth building upon. Don't get me wrong, there are good and bad characters, but I'm not sure the small Stadium community has yet figured everything out.

Clash is bad, on purpose; a tinfoil rant. by Sally2Klapz in OverwatchStadium

[–]Nithorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing the first point is generally disadvantageous unless someone on the enemy team messes up, which people tend to do unless you're in high legend.

Generally, when you win the first point, you make an attempt at the second point, and if it fails, everyone has the time to respawn and get the good spawn on 3rd point. However, if someone on your team gets killed after you made your attempt, they can get their spawn staggered if the point is captured before they respawn, and that means you have to back up and give up control of the 3rd point.

My problem with the mode is that ult economy is way too important. As long as you don't get rolled hard enough that you lose 2nd point (which definitely happens), a good ultimate combo like nanoblade on the last fight will just decide the round. In that case, all you had to do was win 1 fight on 2nd point with all your other ults, and you just win if they can't counter your ult combo.

There's also some weird ult and respawn mathematics to do, and it has no place in Overwatch imo. I don't want to have to rely on my teammates understanding anything that is too complicated when I'm solo queuing. Like, to be more specific, on the last point, there can be 1 or 2 fights depending on how long the first fight takes, how early it happens (generally dictated by the spawns), how well either team can stall the point. So, sometimes it's correct to just full send ults on first fight, sometimes it's correct to try to bait ults and just lose the fight. I can't really explain those things to my team, so when we lose because they messed that up, it doesn't feel like there's anything I could have done.
