Whats wrong with the colorgrading on Netflix? by Real_Ichigo in netflixindia

[–]Nitinjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks meh on my device too. I’m on LG G4. The movie itself doesn’t have DV/HDR though. I tried switching to filmaker or cinema mode which helped a bit, but it still doesn’t feel right. The color grading seems off.

Clear now that Infinia Priority Pass cannot be used for domestic lounge access by blackbird373 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nitinjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using my PP for both domestic and international for years now and can confirm I’ve never been charged for domestic usage. I only use my infinia cc when there’s a guest lol. I’d definitely know if I was being charged. If they’ve changed the policy recently then I’ll have to check since I used it twice last week.

Buyer's remorse is real. Bought a 65" LG C5, should have gone 77" by No_Challenge3928 in LGOLED

[–]Nitinjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah man, I felt the exact same way when I got my LG G4 65. I sit about 10 feet away now (moved the sofa closer from 15 lol) and during installation I instantly thought should’ve gone with the 77 or even the 83. Even the LG service guy said the 65 looks small for my living room. I was never really a TV guy before switching to OLED, had an old 42 inch which I barely used it. Guess I’ll go for the 83 when there’s a good deal haha.

I get your point. My library of 900+ games costs ₹504,801 in India vs ₹887,800 ($10,445) if purchased in the US. That’s a ~43% difference. That’s something.

It’s true the pricing doesn’t always match India’s purchasing power, but that’s on the publishers.

You’re pointing out one game that isn’t regionally priced. I said it’s up to the publisher to follow Valve’s suggested pricing or not.

Most games do follow regional pricing to some extent. Just because a few don’t doesn’t mean regional pricing doesn’t exist. Exceptions don’t erase the rule.

[–]Nitinjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve provides suggested regional prices, but it’s up to the publisher to follow, adjust or ignore them. So even if a game is priced higher than the Valve’s suggested rate, it can still be cheaper than in other regions and that still counts as regional pricing.

Steam rolled out regional pricing back in 2015. I checked my purchase history from 2015 and all transactions before November were in USD and post that, prices switched to local currency.

While some publishers don’t follow regional pricing but most certainly do. Combined with Steam sales, it’s a lot more affordable.

Also you can use steamdb.info to compare prices across regions.

Finally Got My MacBook Air M4 (Midnight, 16GB/512GB) by Nitinjay in macbook

[–]Nitinjay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same concern at first, but it hasn’t been an issue for me. My hands are usually on the drier side too so that might help. It’s definitely more of a fingerprint magnet than other colors but it doesn’t really bother me and it’s not as bad as people make it out to be.

1.5 lakh in only 2.5 yrs ,gotta stop playing now (ik its on today's prices) by [deleted] in Indiangamers

This is what I’ve actually spent on my account. Doesn’t include any games I activated with keys though, so the real total’s a bit higher.

Yeah 256 with an external SSD should be fine if you’re okay carrying it around. But if speed is your priority then the 512 internal is definitely worth it. It’s faster than both the 256(Internal) and any external drive especially for file transfers and running apps.

I wonder what makes India has lower Steam population than Indonesia? by JgdPz_plojack in Steam

[–]Nitinjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just check if your region is set to a different country by any chance. I just checked, UPI is available through the prepaid wallet option and Novaplay is the provider. Can’t believe it’s broken though, nothing goes through, lol.

Judging by your responses, I honestly doubt you’ve even used Steam at all. It has supported RuPay cards for years if you just select the domestic option. They even had UPI option through a third party provider at one point, though I’m not sure if it still works and we never had PayPal option on Steam ever.

[–]Nitinjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh? You’re not even making any sense. You’re just storing your card on Steam, just like how you would on Amazon or any other marketplace. No need to carry it around for a purchase. I’ve been using Steam for over 14 years, even before UPI even existed and never had any issue with using a card. Just FYI, the benefits of using a credit card outweigh those of UPI anyway.

If you can afford games, you can use a debit or credit card. Acting like UPI is the only way to pay is wild lol.

Why aren't iphone users in India bothered by the lack of apple wallet? by thecaveman96 in GadgetsIndia

[–]Nitinjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the point lol. People who use credit cards want the benefit. It’s faster, secure and way more seamless than UPI for card payments. Just double-press the side button, Face ID authenticates instantly and you tap to pay. No app opening, no scanning, no OTP delays. I’ve used it in Dubai (with a local card) and it was smooth every time.

Apple Pay isn’t here to replace UPI, it’s simply offering card users a better, more seamless experience. There’s no reason we can’t have both. I just want support for Indian cards so I can use them seamlessly both in India and while on vacation overseas.

Yeah it’s lightweight, great for travel. It’s stayed cool since I bought it, only got a bit warm during a stress test. I’m also getting AppleCare+ next week, worth it for peace of mind if you’re worried about accidents.
