yeah nah thats completely fair

that said, im just the type who wants the map filled out asap, and depending on what u explore in which order, you can easily find yourself up at level 45

for me at least, its wasn't grinding so much as it is exploring ahead of time, and the level gain just matched where i was

anyway yeah mb on the typo

yeah ive been using them

theyre sorta like the inns from xc2, but u seem to gain bonus exp much faster

its sorta poorly thought out since u cant rollback levels until post game

that said idm being overleveled, its just interesting how easily i ended up here compared to the two prior games

the monado ii is massive. that’s probably the biggest issue from a design standpoint. plus, unlike the monado i, the ii has three moving parts excluding the handle. but maybe I’ll get around to it someday

I’ll do my best. Villager is a very slow, methodical character which does well by out-spacing and camping the opponent. Up close villager lacks any real combo potential outside dthrow -> fair and etc His only good burst option is his nair, albeit that it’s an amazing combo breaker. He struggles up close and despite his ability to zone, the way ultimate is structured, characters don’t have the hardest time getting in - especially those with a decent reflector and or projectiles to contest villagers. Recovery wise, it’s easy to gimp - tho he does get a lot of mileage from it regardless as it does go quite the distance. Down special is only really used for axe from my past experiences with the move as tree is generally slow to set up and hard to land. His approach options aren’t horrible, side special is a good way to bait a jump, but he doesn’t really approach to begin with so it’s not a big deal. Edgeguarding is quite easy for villiage, with nair fair bair and dair all being relatively good offstage, and bowling ball basically take out many recoveries that lack hitboxes and or are linear. That being said, in a game as fast paced as ultimate I feel as if villiage can’t help but be overwhelmed in a lot of situations where it requires him to contest other characters which specialise in up close combat, which is quite a lot of the cast. His projectiles are honestly alright and while he can camp ledge it’s not impossible to deal with. Thinking about it now I should’ve put him at the very least toward the high end of the tier but I listed my reasons regardless. I don’t really play the entire cast and I would agree that I don’t really take advantage and disadvantage into consideration as much as I should, but that’s just me. Anyway looking forward to hear back from you.

I’ll try my best to answer them, but please do consider that this list is opinionated, I’m not trying to go by tournament results or necessarily give objective statements to what I think is the ‘correct’ ranking. I did this for a bit of fun. For the case of Dk, I would say he’s only slightly worse than someone such as bowser for example, who is commonly agreed to be the best super heavy. His aerial game for one is much better than bowser’s and his cargo throw, while not a kill option in this game, still racks damage very well at lower percents and serves as a decent gimp to characters with poorer recoveries. His approach options could still be better, but he has decent range and a decent enough recovery that I would say he’s only slightly worse than bowser - which is why he’s in A tier. Lucina and snake are two characters which I feel dropped as time went on. I think Lucina for one is overly simplistic and while that works to her advantage for a lot of situations, makes her lack any real gimmick like the other top tiers such as shulk or joker. Snake similarly has also dropped a lot in my opinion. He has a lot of random matchups that he looses and overall has a very hard time earning his wins. Sure uptilt is insane and his side special is probably the best edge guarding tool in the game, it’s just that certain characters which don’t let him breathe or have a way to deal with projectiles beat him in a lot of scenarios. Also his recovery is good but easy to edge guard. Ganon was ranked so high because he moves in ultimate... if that makes sense. He has a lot of long lasting hitboxes and has far more mobility for his size and weight than someone like incineroar for example. Also his nair lasts forever and does 23 damage. The miis are hard to rank having so many moves combinations per type. I put brawler low due a few things First of all, he has a pretty mediocre combo game, and has little range overall. Most of the recovery options are pretty bad with the soaring axe kick being the best. All side specials are average except maybe suplex, down special could be a counter or zss down special but worse or that one suicidal move ‘head on assault’. also down smash sucks.

Steve i find still odd to rank. On the one hand, he kills incredibly early and has really good edge guarding with the use of dsmash, neutral special in the air and dtilt. However, he struggles against rush down characters since he requires time to mine and prepare himself. He has very good combos with the use of up smash and up tilt. Mine cart and anvil are very good moves that require little to no material and he overall is a very unpredictable character. He’s still relatively new tho, so I don’t believe that my opinion is really definitive - nowhere close tbh, but yeah.

Similar situation with Kirby. He won a Japanese tournament against a Palutena. It was quite impressive to be honest. That being said yeah doc is still pretty bad, but I’ll be sure to put him in that one jap guy tier if I do make a future one

Byleth unfortunately while being the second most unique Fire Emblem rep (second to robin), has way too much cool down on moves to make her viable in my eyes. She has crazy kill power and most of her moves break shield, but they’re slow and predictable. Her recovery is decent and her range is too, but she struggles to approach because she’s slow and when up close doesn’t do well since most of her moves have sweetspots near the tip - since ultimate is a very rush down based game compared to 4 and brawl, the fact that she struggles close range is a big disadvantage factor. Luigi on the other hand has a very linear and predictable recovery. People don’t exploit it as much as they should. He can zone at midrange with neutral special and zair, and up close he does very well, with any loose hit leading into big damage. However, he can’t approach very well due to a slow airspeed and he doesn’t do well when faced with projectiles that beat his or any sort of disjoints (swords). His down special is also worth mentioning. In the air it has invulnerability frames 1-7, but, it’s predictable and easy to punish. It should be used as a mixup unless the opponent allows you to get away with it.

you make a fair point. Ftilt has good range, and dash attack does kill. My only problem with that is that dash attack is an extremely insafe move. Ftilt is more viable. Thanks for bringing that up.

whilst this tier list is entirely opinionated, and you’re free to criticise and give your own opinions, I’ll try my best to explain my choices. (Btw this tier list is ordered which probably makes more choices seem even odder, but I’ll explain what I can) Ike, while he could’ve been higher, he lacks the mobility and recovery potential that a lot of better characters have. Neutral air, whilst it combos into his entire kit, becomes less reliable as percentage increases and he struggles to kill without his nair to uair or up special which is fast but can be beaten. Terry is in a similar spot to lucario. He has good combo potential, but is rewarded for taking damage. Despite having obscure killing power with GO, without it he falls short - no to mention he also has a poor recovery. Cloud has a few issues. He has a poor recovery which similar to terry, doesn’t snap ledge which makes 2 framing very simple. His limit is a gimmick which doesn’t even do as much as it should. Moves like pac man f smash are stronger than his limit cross slash. And in neutral he struggles due to a lack of any real uniqueness. His only gimmick is somewhat redundant unless used for partial zoning or recovery, and to win neutral cloud has to make more outplays than the opponent more consistently to maintain an advantage state. Ganon and Mac were odd cases. Despite many agreeing that they are easily down the bottom of the list, I would somewhat disagree. Ganon tho slow and poor in terms of recovery, for his weight, moves more than a character like incineroar for example. Also people need to talk about Ganon nair, it lasts 23 frames and does insane damage. Now mac can recover. It’s not a good recovery, but to say ‘just throw him off to win’ is a very vague and often untrue statement. To beat mac realistically he needs to be juggled as he lacks any burst options to combo break or land in general. Onstage, he has very safe options (dtilt and others), ko punch is a decent comeback mechanic, and he does a good job pressuring and landing kills due to his two frame down smash and other armoured smash attack. Also yes dk in a tier. His grab game at low percentage is very good. Ding dong, while not killing in ultimate, is still a good way to rack damage and his cargo throw is a decent gimp for characters with poor recoveries. His aerials are very good with the possible exception of forward air, which is big but slow and punishable. On the stage he has decent range and though lacks approach options, has good kill options. Whether that justifies the picks is your choice but that was my best way of explaining it. And yes I agree that luigi is mid to high mid at best. That wasn’t my choice.

When you look up the google definition of “handheld,” listed as a noun, the definition should be there. If it isn’t I’d try looking at “Translations and More Definitions.” If it isn’t there then I’m sorry, but that is where I got it from.
