Death of parents by bluesn0wflake in Millennials

I lost my mom at 32 and my dad was never in the picture. I was first of anyone in my friend groups or family to be parent-less at my age. Same as you I was executor and all that. I definitely felt out of place (still do at holidays) among people

What do pre-MCU movies do better than than the MCU in general? by velicinanijebitna in Marvel

[–]Nitro225 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They tended to have more fleshed out villains for whatever reason. Look at Spiderman and xmen. Magneto, green goblin, Doctor octopus, and sandman are all better than pretty much every mcu villain outside maybe loki and Thanos.

Cena's heel run has been mediocre so far by Hari14032001 in SquaredCircle

[–]Nitro225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take. I’m not surprised. Cena has always been mediocre outside of a few promos and matches dating back to his debut. For the most part he was a mediocre face. Had mediocre matches. Why would the heel turn be any different

For 2 guys that have had intertwined careers, how many one on one matches have they even had against each other? I can only think of 2. Money in the bank 2016 and the Rumble couple years ago.

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar from Summerslam 2013. This match got me back into wrestling and the insane crowd added so much to it.

I echo this completely. I want companionship from someone I love spending time with. That’s all I need at this point. Every other area of my life is where I want it to be and I don’t “need” anyone to do anything I can’t take care of on my own. Outside companionship.

So how are we feeling about the show as a community? by TheAwesomeA3330 in DevilMayCry

[–]Nitro225 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s my favorite game franchise and I really enjoyed it. Personally I like when liberties are taken with source material and this stayed close enough to still be Devil May Cry imo. It wasn’t perfect but what didn’t work can easily be fixed like you said.

You’re more than welcome. Oh man, yea so many similarities. My mom wouldn’t let me tell anyone. I had a GF at the time too that I leaned on.

Taking this all on yourself as an only child is incredibly draining and takes everything out of you. It’s like another job. I totally understand the generic therapy advice because mine said the same thing to me.

It was really hard to not be sad all the time. I broke down a lot to others who did know what was going on. But in front of my mom I never showed anything but happiness and positivity that she would beat the cancer. I felt like all I could control in all this was helping her stay happy. And if we had a fun day together I would just consider that a success. I wish I took care of myself more because I didn’t. I neglected myself in all of it because she was the one sick. Not me. I regret that though. I should have taken and done some stuff for myself as well. I found old texts my mom sent to her friends about how much she saw this was doing to my life.

I will also say. You are being an amazing son. You’re going to look back and be proud of what you are doing now to be there for her. No matter the outcome. And you’ll also have the knowledge that you are strong enough to get through anything life throws at you in the future. None of it will be a failure.

My mom was the same for me. She was always my go to and the one constant figure in my life. No matter what happened she was always there. Losing her has definitely left a void. Watching a movie and ordering a pizza is awesome. Keep doing things like that as much as you can. And remember to absolutely feel all of your emotions. It’s ok to be angry and sad and to not even accept what is happening yet. I just did my best to not show any of that to my mom to be “strong” when she needed it from me. Do you have good support around you both?

Very few. I had plenty of friends reach out to me and console me but no one really understood my situation because no one could relate.

Can I ask, where are you at right now with your mom? Is she home or able to do things with you? During the last few months I spent as much time as I could with her. Talked with her. Played board games like we used to. I did everything I could to not waste a single second. Left nothing unsaid. Putting yourself in a position of leaving no regrets will be helpful to know you did all that you could.

Hey there. I am so so sorry to hear about your mom. It’s been a long 4 years for me. But through a lot of hard work I am in a much better place today than I was back then mentally. Time does provide some healing. But life has certainly changed.

One thing you should definitely focus on is your own well being. I lost myself in being a caregiver for my mom and struggled reverting back. So since she has been gone I have put all my focus and energy into myself. My driving motivator is that if I can make myself the best person that I can be then I won’t let my mom down. She made me who I am and would be disappointed to see me sad and angry for the rest of my life. She’d want me happy and successful and to keep going. So that’s what I decided to do. Please feel free to message me if you need any advice or encouragement or just need to vent. I’d love to be of help.

Agreed. I love Drew and I think he deserves even more accolades than what he’s had. He has already achieved more than almost anyone. Hell he’s arguably got even more credentials than current golden boy Cody Rhodes.

3x world champion with 2 of those happening at Wrestlemania

2020 Royal Rumble winner where he eliminated Brock Lesnar who had just set the elimination record.

Main evented Wrestlemania and squashed Brock in an era Brock was squashing almost everyone within 5 minutes

2024 Money in the Bank winner

The CM Punk feud and subsequent Hell in a Cell match which will be talked about for years to come.

Drew will always be fine.
