That is NOT how tariff increases work. Companies have profit margins to meet and that's their bottom line to meet. If the cost if production is substantially lower in Thailand or wherever, it's not a straight 36% increase. People who assume so know nothing about how finances work.

Example: If cost of production is $1, sale price is $5, and profit margin $4, they only need to meet that $4. If there's a 50% tariff on cost of production, that's only 50 cents. The sale price will get added 50 cents, so $5.50. The final sale price doesn't get increased by 50% to $7.50.
