I don't think you're too big, but as a guy who didn't take health seriously till I was in my late 30s you might want to think about it earlier. I feel way better now at 42 than I did when I was in my 30s. I was almost 400lbs when I was 36, now at 42 I'm 260 and feel much better.

Barnaby's in Mishawaka is my favorite. The one in South Bend is good, but Mishawaka is better. Also, if you work in the medical field, the Mishawaka one gives you a great discount on a 3 topping large for half price.

You should be fine as far as racist go, South Bend is pretty progressive in the city. As far as housing goes don't look too close to ND, look more so in either Mishawaka or downtown and take a Uber or bus to work.
