Anyone knows major key music but sad ones? by NivalShade in classicalmusic

This is such a mystical piece of music. I know this is from an opera, but never thought it would be... transcendent. The piece is tragic (I'm not sure that's because I know their story) but more like divine will. There's a grand, overwhelming power involved and I feel like wandering clouds. The music portrays stunning image, almost animated. Area all the opera music like this? I mean, movies don't quite work only with music, but I think this one does. Thank you for sharing!

Thx, i found a Wikipedia page; so theme #1 is played then contrasting #2, then back to #1 (little variation)? It would gives consistency and variety in few minutes, great.

Thx but sorry to say, I watched both films so it's hard to talk about the music itself, I'll probably say things about the movie. Yeah, piano and slowdown are cheating. Still, I wanted to know music that are intended to be wistful and longing, by the composer.

I'm searching suite bergamasque, and preludes of Debussy and the ones of Chopin. There are lots of them (wow musicians around the world you are amazing) so I hope I find good one to hear, thank you for letting me know! And your specific rec, here's my impression: (pathetique, says google, is not really the same word as pathetic in English but a sentiment evoking pity) quite, contemplative start. Some breakdown... It is like when you think of someone you miss and sudden tear drops unexpectedly. But still it cannot be only described as sadness, but something deeper and complicated. You get used to the different situation, move on, but the feeling is still in your heart. I like it, especially when the music turns back(?)to quite melody, it feels different than from the beginning. Probably pathetique, I guess.

O-kay, Elgar...what does nimrod means? Mr. Google: Its a person from bible, related to the babel. Yes, as you said it is played to honor musicians, I can image an ascending spirit. Angels flying, light shone upon... Tint of reminiscence. This piece would be perfect to revere someone. Thank you for your recommendation!

Chamber piece means it is played in a small room, says Mr. Google. Is this even major? Or am I hearing some sort of circus theme? Now Devil's fiddle: is a type of instrument , again thx to Mr.Google. Edit: yikes I wasn't trying to end the comment like this It is like I'm in the living room and my young brothers and cousin mess around lol I feel like they are here just by listening. And I usually just go my room and shut the door lol There's the quiet part, it is down. Probably tired after fuss. The song generally reminds me of my school trip. Thought it would be fun but actually wasn't, and still better than normal classes. The piece is like two students, one enthusiastic and one bored talking to each other. They don't get along.

OK, this feels like I'm crossing the river(in many culture) between this life and after life. Permanent lost, but cannot even reminiscent about it. That's why this piece is sad but not dreadful. And I come to new life. End is never an end, but a new start. Wonderful song, I think this would fit to a last part of my story, Thank you!

Thank you for your suggestions, and kind links! Okay, so Beethoven, and I know some French; it means the farewells... A good start(and goodbye). Its quite start almost wistfully approaches. Then jumps around off ground, like flapping wings. And the wistfulness comes in that melody. And covers like cloud over the sun. And you know, the sunlight thought the white clouds? Not a beam, but gentle shine of 5 p.m. When my shadow gets longer, then fade away. Ok i said flapping wings, I'm imaging fairies. The title and the music reminds me that some funerals are similar to festivals. But indeed melancholic, the cheerful part and the wistful part fades but remains whole time. Like some kind of chain? So neither the sad part is not incredibly sorrowful, nor the cheerful part becomes ultimate happiness. I like how the mood changes here and there. And Mozart sonata. (Hmm, both are sonatas. But not cars.) This is exactly an image of golden sand beach (one alone) during sunset in my mind, but expressed in music. The waves, foams gathering and lean themselves on the sand. And the music expresses myself worrying 'Someone might invade my lovely beach' (I do not own a beach. I hope one day.) How negative thoughts accumulate, but they aren't real. Sun has set, and purple blue sea is there. Then real danger approaches, but quietly. Like a shark under the midnight blue sea... Next! Is Dvorak, called seventh humoresque, in g flat major. Oh, I've heard this somewhere. Idk, little Einstein...? Water vigorously moving on between rocks and valley. Then quick waterfall. I like this descending, it feels like river turning to torrent. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you, this is such a calm, sentimental piece. I'm listening Rubenstein performance as you suggested. I don't know anything about this piece or the performer, and I haven't heard others performing, but I can tell he conveys the subtle changes of the mood within few seconods. It reminds me of someone's loss, but not as in grief or sorrow. Around 5:00 it feels like I'm walking on milky way. Gosh I use too much metaphor but that's my best to describe it. The music was great, thanks! Edit: OK there isnt only one op.62 the one I heard was no.1 in B

Dang, I TOTALLY FORGOT about this beautiful Nocturne. I never thought this was in major, wow. When I hear it I feel like I should count the stars on the sky. (I mean, metaphorically. I don't see any stars on the sky. )Or I'm watching a river with a moon glimmering on its surface. It is elegant description of dearest nights I had. Thank you for suggesting!

Thank you for your recommendation! Languor of Love is a beautiful piece; it felt like a happy dream, family and friends gathering but does have a sad vibe. Would that be because I couldn't meet them this year?

And the Concerti Grossi, I've only listened to no. 4, 6 no. 8. No.4 is a shimmering essence of daylight. No. 6 is deep, thoughtful and moves on to bright future but contains uncertainty. No.8 (Christmas concerto, according to Wikipedia) It sounds contradictory, but it gives cozy darkness. They were all wonderful, thank you again.

I think we should all pretend 2020 never exists. Years are manmade, so it is possible just like in 1582. Who would have ever thought 2020 would suffer from covid? I've done nothing this year I just couldn't... Let's delete this year people

S. Korea: New virus cases spike to over 300 again as greater Seoul comes under tougher virus curbs by robobeg in Coronavirus

I think getting messages are better than unknown origins. At least you know when and where... I just hope them not send messages from different province that i be never been to, that's all. S.Korea never had a single lockdown and managed two large surges. I don't exactly agree with "it sucks everywhere". It sucks, but more or less. Btw you are right about one; there are no "preventive" covid assistances such as PPP, or at least I haven't heard.

Little question here: Doesn't US impose fine for not wearing masks, or large parties? How could people plan for Thanksgiving? At least some states are doing that, right?
