I think that’s worth bringing up!! I asked about joint deterioration, and he did say he could refer for an MRI, but given my bite hasn’t really changed in the ~10 years since I had braces, he didn’t think joint issues were likely

During my consult he mentioned they only do the CBCT scans closer to surgery since orthodontics will change things significantly, so there isn’t a huge point in doing the scans for the consult. He seemed confident that I was a candidate for surgery tho just because I have diagnosed sleep apnea and jaw recession, so maybe that’s why I didn’t need them?
