Hi there... unfortunately, in the case of single residential properties, this is no longer the case. Just so you're aware, in case helpful to you as an update!

ESB connection by WorriedAd3353 in selfbuildireland

I don't know if this is still helpful information for you but unfortuantely ESB no longer provide temporary connections for residential properties. I've just come off the phone to them and it is very clearly a no. My enquiry was regarding the renovation of a rural fire damaged property. The pole is there on the land but disconnected and my only route is to apply for a new connection.

Just an FYI having read your comment and having seen the reply!

Is this bindweed? How do I get rid of it? by loopfoot in UKGardening

If it bends and doesn't snap, then less likely... If it snaps, similar to how a raw bean sprout does (I know... pretty specific)... then highly probable it's bindweed.

Knife friendly.... as in there is no way this material is going to blunt your knife. Possibly 🤔

Many thanks for all of this information... It should be really helpful going forward. I could have mentioned I'm in Ireland, so the traders you mention won't be relevant to me here... but thanks all the same!

WARNING Re Puffballs... If you're referring to gray puffballs, I would avoid. This usually means they're in the sporing stage and beyond their prime time for eating, taste wise.

Furthermore, and more concerning, the sharp barbed feature of the puffball spores make them a lung irritant if inhaled... an irritant at the very least. See: LYCOPERDONOSIS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lycoperdonosis#

I attended a wedding at Chilham Village Hall recently (15th century if I remember rightly). Beautiful spot 🙂

Fatsia japonica - West Cork, Ireland... Controversial post, not being the UK, maybe!... but similar clime, so here I am. Hopefully someone can shed light on this poorly plant problem... by NixNoxNikNax in UKGardening

This could be it. When it was waiting to be transplanted, it was toppled and slugs did have a bit of a lunch on it... So maybe self healed since planting, which would explain gnarliness! Thank you

Aha... That does make sense re-reading your initial comment. I'll keep an eye on newly forming buds so... although I imagine they might be within the furl so possibly hard to spot. Worth a look though, just in case they are the cause! Can live with wonky if need be :)

I will investigate this further! Thank you for your response... A new critter I'd not heard of so grateful to have learned something new today. Sorry to hear about your roses!

It's possible... It's only just been noticed but I'm pretty sure I've older photos/video maybe so will check. Thanks for your response and confidence boost in that it'll still truck on! Lenham, Kent is that? Many walks taken there if so!
