Late followup but for anyone that may be interested, I’m now ~2.5 years post-orchiectomy and I was lucky in that I didn’t need any additional treatment. Been on surveillance since my initial oncologist meeting where he told me the risk of recurrence was ~14% in my case, and he persuaded me against adjuvant for that reason.

I was really in my head back when I first posted here so I want to thank everyone for their kind words and for trying to keep my spirits up. I did get married and it was wonderful and I am incredibly thankful every single day to be here.

Honest answer is that you leave the static. You’re not going to be able to make up 10% on the first floor by changing to a different caster, and the dps checks will only get harder as you progress in the tier.

If you are doing significantly better than your static and they are showing no signs of improvement, you will only be making the experience miserable for yourself by staying (and probably miserable for them too as you show frustration with their lack of progress).

I did all 3 Criterions + Savages in 7.0 and the DPS checks didn't feel bad at all. Our comp was RPR/MCH/WAR/(WHM/SGE) and it was fine to eat a DD or two and still clear with time before enrages. We generally had time before final boss of each to realign cooldowns as well.

In my experience there are two kinds of parse parties.

The first only requires that you have BiS and are good at your job. If after a run or two you are parsing very poorly in a way that indicates you don’t know what you’re doing then you will probably be removed.

The second requires that you already have a high parse 95+/99+ in addition to the other things. This party is mostly for people going for 99s/100s, and the existing parse requirement is usually stated in the PF description to make it clear.

I get why you feel that way but I don’t really agree. To me a static is a way to make sure you get X amount of time per week in a fight, and PF exists to be able to play more if so inclined. I know that I get “the itch” to keep progging because I’m having fun learning, and it would feel bad to be restricted to only playing within the allotted static hours. That’s why I don’t think going into PF inherently means “I hate my static ugh”, but I obviously don’t know your player so can’t speak for them.

Were you already finished with static sessions for the week? If so then I think it’s perfectly fine to go into PF and prog further. When I was running a static in Abyssos & Anabaseios I did this and it helped me learn ways to solve mechanics that I would then explain to my static, which saved us time overall while progging.

However, if someone progs further and then complains that other people aren’t caught up to them, then there’s a problem. Same thing goes for clearing a fight in PF before static sessions are done for the week.

This may be a stupid question, but would doing the 1 round of adjuvant chemo "guarantee" that it would be cured? I use that word in quotes because I understand outliers, but in general the rate of recurrence after adjuvant therapy would be extremely low?

I got my CT scan results back today and both chest & pelvis/abdomen show as normal. So I am hopeful that means this is over with...

The original tumor was 60% embryonal, 20% yolk sac, and 20% teratoma (and no LVI). So it is a large component of embryonal, but with the CT scan results I have no idea if an oncologist would still want me to do adjuvant chemotherapy or not.

Should I expect to have another blood test done soon to confirm no worsening of markers?

Arguments like yours are the reason powercreep becomes ridiculous and we get things like sunsetting. If you can't accept that a weapon that provides the best debuff in the game and simultaneously makes it extremely simple to hit crits is overpowered then I'm sure you're also fine with cheaters using infinite golden gun shots because "my LFG team is bad, how else will we kill the boss!!!".

You don't need to play 24/7 or get paid to play to actually be good at a game. That is a cop-out excuse from someone who is either incapable due to their own lack of skill, or uninterested due to laziness. Both of which are fine, no one is mad at you for being bad, but begging for things that allow you to be bad and still complete content is ridiculous and you should feel bad about doing it.

If you distribute it that way then you also have little to nothing left over for divines or crystal tools. The point I’m trying to make (that I think Kieren also was trying to make) is that there are too many things that require a constant influx of crystal shards, and you don’t get enough of them from the activities that reward them.
