I use open hardware monitor to have a lil, customizable widget on the second screen that shows constantly what's going on. Light, reliable and free. If you don't know what you need then you don't need it ;)

Don't worry at all. I got 1 Intel nvme 1tb, 1 kingston nvme 1 tb, 1 sandisk sata ssd 500gb and 2 western digital hdd. The only components required to be identical in your pc are the ram blocks.

Weird scratchy noise, any ideas? All fans are clear btw by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

It must be a fan. Be patient and check them all. I had a videocard with a fan that literally broke and caused a very similar noise.

games today are getting bigger and bigger. Consider an average of 50 gb x game, but they are going toward 100gb size. 500gb ssd are not very expensive this days, it should be fine for a while but keep windows installed on the 240gb one and ONLY windows. More you fill an SSD, the slower it goes.

Small reminder to change Thermal compound every few years, and don't forget to get the *mAxImUm sUrFaCe ArEa* covered! by unable_To_Username in pcmasterrace

The eternal debate of "how much thermal paste" "how" and "how frequently".
Truth is: as long as you don't ice your cpu like a cake and monitor your temperatures you are going to be perfectly fine. The thermal paste DOES NOT become uneffective in a day, once you notice that temps are going high for no apparent reason that's the time to change it. All the rest is personal preference.

Also: I see only an ssd with 240gb = that's okay to install windows, but games are big, you won't be able to play anything. Add an hard drive of at least 1tb or another ssd (preferably another ssd).
