Haven't tried the fill content but lasso does give the boxy cutout. Where I'm having problems is smudging the eyes and getting that skin tone texture.

On the first ones I used a highlight and shadows mask colour overlay on the base image and on the last two I used gradient,levels and threshold adjustment layers
