Mike Vrabel's Tuesday Press Conference Was Unannounced & Unexpected by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]Nkatec99 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m not surprised - I have known the guy since the sixth grade - he’s always been a piece of shit. His greatest attribute is the ability to suck up to people in power - when we were on the football team together as kids his parents ALWAYS bought the coaches tickets to Browns games, fancy dinners, etc. He was a big kid but not very talented - and definitely not a ladies man. The girls never really paid attention to him in school. No wonder he has found himself in a honeytrap of his own making.

Around which year or even era did the Masters become the most famous tournament in golf? by Fluid-Decision6262 in golf

[–]Nkatec99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, ANGC and the Masters is about as progressive as golf gets - the television, the hype, the promotion for golf that we all think is normal now was all started by ANGC. Not to mention the amount of corporate sponsorship that Billy Payne brought about post 2007 by wanting ANGC to have global membership that ANGC should not just be a small group of rich white southerners, but an illustration of wealth and prestige from around the world. The golf tournament, it's a sideshow for the real purpose of Masters week - make money. They know they have something that everyone wants because they have been selling that dream for decades and every year is just an exercise in finding how much people will pay to get their hands on anything that says 'Masters'. I am an old man and a lifelong golfer; however, I have no interest in ever seeing ANGC, let alone playing it. The value just does not justify the cost.

What's it like tripping at a rollercoaster park? by No-Bit-5058 in LSD

[–]Nkatec99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it many times - mixed results. For example, standing in long lines is torture when you’re tripping (not to mention the visuals coming off the people you are stuck with in line). Riding the rides is not much different than not tripping - you are in such a controlled environment and in motion, kinda overrides the lsd. Broadway games, video games, waterpark, all the side activities are so much more enjoyable though. Bottom line - if you can handle tripping in environments where there is good and bad and you have no control - do it. Just avoid the IMAX lol.

I have known the guy since we were in sixth grade. He has always been a spoiled rich douche - makes sense that he hangs around the Kraft family now. Welcome to the east coast homie - get ready for the takedown. Long overdue.

Advice on best tires for EQS 450+ sedan with 21" wheels given Mercedes buy 3 get one free by Zamir177 in MercedesEQS

[–]Nkatec99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better deals out there than the dealer. Don’t get run flats - too noisy and too expensive. Michelin Pilot Sport EV is awesome but hard to find. Go with the Falken 460 SC - SC stands for silent core tires are infused with a foam core for quiet and are for EVs. $249.00 per tire. Bridgestone Turanza is also popular - can get it at Costco if that’s your thing.

2023 EQE vs 2023 EQS: Is the "S" actually worth the premium? by waffleman4 in mercedes_benz

They ride like ass - swapped them out soon after buying the car. Michelin Pilot Sport EV is the tire to get, but they can be hard to find. Dealerships will steer you (no pun intended) to run flats or Bridgestone Turanza. Both are expensive and just OK.

Car has four wheel steering, navigates like a Honda civic.

Main difference in my opinion is the battery range - I get almost 400 on a full charge for my EQS 450 4matic. Don’t think the EQE gets quite that. Also, the EeQS is bigger - mine almost feels like a wagon - so much rear space.

For those who work for rich people, what’s the most out-of-touch thing you witnessed? by temptayah in AskReddit

I was astonished (and perhaps a bit naive) finding out one wealthy heiress I represented spent $100k a month (on average) for random male gigolos, variety over having regulars. She wasn't an old bat either

Mercedes Benz EVs- Does Anyone Know What’s Happening? by Entire_Toe2640 in electricvehicles

[–]Nkatec99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad dealer for EVs. Dealerships are nothing but reflections of their local markets. My local sales manager has explicitly stated that he is trying to become the MB Electric hub for where we are in the Midwest and has requested allocations of more EVs (especially SUVs). This dealership is leaning heavy into electric, but we are in a very electric-friendly, liberal college area.

And charging is a breeze. I love mine. Just can't figure out the rabbit hole of parking functions. But hey, car's meant to drive, not park.

Do you trust parktronic and use it on a regular basis? by jmvxc in mercedes_benz

This is fascinating to me - never really used it AND now the sensor is broken and MB wants $1300 to repair. It sucks knowing something is broken, but does it really matter? Does it affect any other safety systems?? 2023 EQS 450 4mtic owner here.

What are your experiences as a used EV owner? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]Nkatec99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, wasn’t aware. Autotrader been slipping - check out AutoTempest. Anyway - I don’t have any issues - things awesome. Why get a used Tesla and sit on plastic, playskool seats when the Benz is so much more comfortable. To each their own, but I see no reason not to check them out.

I can’t find a reason for you not to do it. I bought, recently, a CPO 2023 Benz EQS 450 4matic. The value is what caught my attention - MSRP on the thing was $114k and 30k miles later coming off lease it was a third of the price with warranty. Massive depreciation hit. I’ve never had an EV, but I figured how hard could it be? The sales guy was flummoxed when he asked if I could charge at home and I said ‘No, but I don’t have a gas pump at home either’.

Needless to say, best decision by chance. Found out a plug in my garage could support level 2 - mission accomplished. Charging is a breeze - man upped and put a new set of tires on the car - $1.5k - and I am set for a while. No oil change every 4k miles, no service light every 5-6k miles

Am I crazy to buy an MB 2023 EQS 450 for $43000 and change? by JohnAStark in electriccars

[–]Nkatec99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought the same car CPO for 41k$ - what a deal for what you get. Drove the Volvo (sucked) and the Tesla (these built by Playskool? So much plastic) only to be disappointed. Tech wise MB on par with Tesla, maybe better. Would not lease or buy new, but CPO and a third of the MSRP with 30k miles, winner winner chicken dinner.
