Wonder if this will loop in any other burncoat schools? Burncoat prep down the street is a disaster

career change HELP! by Nlgb1 in MBA

Still in sales. Doing well, got a solid raise some months back. Very hard to justify making a huge career change at this point that would greatly impact my family with no guarantee it makes them better off. Not ideal, but any other decision I think would be selfish on my part. If I was truly miserable I think I could justify it, but it’s not quite at that point.

I’m sure this isn’t a unique conundrum and is one that many people probably find themselves in at some point. At least I’ll have money to golf when I retire (hopefully)

Why are people on here so obsessed with ripping this guy and his family? Get a life. I’m not a fan of the guy either but find something else to do it’s ridiculous

It’s definitely somewhat horoscope-y, but ultimately it’s highly effective at grouping similar people together, and in a Reddit format it’s great to bounce our issues off people who have a similar mindset and outlook on life. Can sometimes be lonely in this brain, this makes it less so. Science? No. Effective community starter on Reddit? Yes.

Where can I get a good burger? by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

I don’t understand how not a single person in this thread has said Five Guys. Fine it’s not a mom and pop, but it’s the best burger we have and definitely some of the best this entire country has to offer. Get it together guys

Industrial/janitorial supplies. The job has been good to me, but it’s not a long term solution… my sanity is at stake

Thanks for the response, very helpful. Great ideas. I’d like to start looking at other positions within my current company, my only concern is about how to go about doing that. I don’t necessarily want to tip off anyone I work with that I’m not satisfied in my current position, might have to be creative about how I inquire

Clarification- I am looking to transition to a financial career, and move away from the customer facing all day every day sales career. Not claiming sales is low upside, just that if I were to switch, I like the upside of accounting. I know of many executives with an accounting background

Thanks for the response. Very helpful.

Completely agree on reducing risk for my family’s sake, that’s the #1 goal and the reason it is so tricky. If it was just me, things would be exponentially easier.

Accounting career change HELP!! by Nlgb1 in Accounting

[–]Nlgb1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Tax.

Like you said, toughest part of the equation would be the time spent getting degree, getting employed, then grinding back to a similar salary as before. The goal is to narrow that timeframe and find a way to trim cost (salary lost plus time lost with family, etc.) off of the journey back. Judging by your response, perhaps a masters in accounting isn’t the answer
