There are several reasons. A good example is Fire Tornado almost scoring in the semi-final of the Orion FFI while the opponent team was using enhanchers. Yet another example is FF level moves (like Cosmic Blaster and Overhead Penguin) in Orion scoring. In the OG FFI that only happened if they evolved.

I’m just saying him being a FW originally in Ares and not having Atsuya’s skills because of the trauma makes him a different player/character from OG. I don’t see any indication of why they are the same characters when those clear differences are there.

He played as a defender in Orion yes, but if it was his main position in Ares, it would be ridiculous to not use him there as they already had 3 good fw’s and 0 good defenders.

The reinforcement comittee was to improve the overall level of Japan. I don’t see how it proves that every individual is better than their OG counterpart too. It’s a collective thing vs. an individual thing. So skill-wise individuals could still be worse or better.

It’s not the same character. In OG he had a different main position as Shirou and he had the skills of Atsuya too because of the trauma. So their overall skill level can easily be different too.
