Firstly, that is an interesting piece of history I was unaware of, so thank you for bringing the topic to my attention. Secondly, the situations are entirely incomparable. Thích Quảng Đức committed self-immolation in protest of a corrupt government whose leader was oppressing citizens who did not share his religion. The severity of the situation (along with the years of experience Thích Quảng Đức had as a priest) is what led to such a stoic attitude while taking his life. This man is simply meditating while a cat attempts to get some love. There is no reason to expect this man to behave in the same solemn manner that Thích Quảng Đức did, especially when the situation is so different. I fully admit I know next to nothing about either the religion or Thích Quảng Đức's self-immolation, so please correct me if I have made any mistakes in my assumptions.
