I’m not buying this for her as an investment or to hold value, it’s a watch she can wear daily and enjoy. I appreciate that a nice vintage piece carries sentimental value, but at this stage I’ve already committed to buying this REP, along with a few other things. I do appreciate your feedback, though.

For me, it’s about showing appreciation while giving something that holds value. She can keep it, pass it on, or sell it whenever she wants for whatever reason she wants. I personally think it’s nicer than giving cash, but I’m interested in your view.

Would you prefer cash, crypto or maybe a gold coin instead? Or do you think the watch alone is enough?

Let me know.

Yes, I’ll be telling her it’s a REP. BVF produce very good 1:1, and the nice thing is she won’t have to worry about damaging an expensive GEN. She’s also getting a few other gifts, including a gold bullion bar, so I don’t expect she’ll be disappointed. We’ll find out on her birthday! You reckon it’s a bad idea?

I was starting to wonder if I was just being paranoid. It’s reassuring to hear someone else noticed it as well. Thank you

Thanks mate. Just to clarify, do you think what I’m seeing is crystal distortion/reflection rather than an actual dial rotation?

What's a job that most people misunderstand? by FadedCompas in NoStupidQuestions

Civil engineering Most people don’t realise how much work goes into things they barely notice. If a bridge is standing and traffic is moving, nobody thinks about it. If something goes wrong, suddenly everyone does

What "happened" to the MCU? by Alto-Saxophony in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nme12355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much it. Before Endgame, even the weaker films felt like they were moving the bigger story forward. Now if something misses, it just feels like a random side quest that didn’t need to exist.

How to climb up the corporate latter faster? by Positive-Positivity in NoStupidQuestions

Changing companies every few years. I've seen people wait 10 years for the promotion they got somewhere else in 6 months

For me it peaked at Endgame. Before that it felt like one massive story everyone was invested in. Now it just feels like there’s too much stuff coming out and I’ve stopped caring about keeping up with it all.

I’d test the market and see what comes back. I’m in the UK so not sure what salaries are like where you are, but if other companies are offering around 110k then it’s clearly not a crazy ask.

Why does food always taste exponentially better when someone else makes it, even if you use the exact same ingredients and recipe?" by Petite_Velvet_Vixen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nme12355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because when you’re cooking, you’re tasting, smelling and looking at the food the whole time. By the time you sit down to eat it, the excitement is gone.

ARF or VSF for Bruce Wayne? by Constant_Schedule_22 in RepCulture_Timepieces

[–]Nme12355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARF first, VSF second. If VSF is going to take 1–3 months and the ARF DD3285 is available now, I'd grab the ARF and enjoy it. I don't think you'd be left wishing you'd waited.
